Then YOU started in with the personal attacks, particularly the insinuation that I am fabricating evidence, a charge that is particularly galling coming from you, who appears never to read anything serious about any topic,, and on top of that seems to think that reading a book is a serious impediment to knowledge! Give me a break! Respect? Given the standard you have set here, both with your ludicrous posts and your petulant reaction to responses to them, you are hardly the one to talk about conferring any others. You should be trying to regain now what little respect anyone here ever had for you previously (which was not much, given the stuff you have said about the Rape of Nanjing among other things). Based on your last exchange with Alan, it appears that you are on a quest for a representative sample of uneducated opinion in the US about the Middle East issue. I will gladly put you in contact with my paper boy and mail carrier; perhaps they can be of some service in this regard. And that way you can spare this list further posts about this subject as well.
