Yes, I have the same issue. As long as you don't save the changes simply closing
the program and then restarting it seems to reinitialize the original style
configuration setting. Regardless of this nagging little bug, this is
excellent
freeware, keep up the good work Mr Ho.

I've noticed that braces auto-close when I'm programming. This actually
irritates
the heck out of me =P
Is it possible to disable this? I've been all through the settings but can't
find it. The TextFX Setting to do this *is* off already, activating it through
the plugins menu makes two closing braces show up.

I have run into a number of problems with the user defined language
higlighting:
1) "/*" and "*/" don't work for comment blocks if "*" or "/" are selected as
operators, so you have to choose between either having comments or arithmetic.
2) Comment blocks cannot also be folders, as that changes the highlighting to
that of the folders.
3) Page background colour doesn't seem to be configurable, unless I change the
default setting, which affects everything, not just my user-defined language :/
4) It would be nice to have more groups of keywords. An unlimited number would
be ideal. The same with delimiters too I suppose, although I haven't hit that
limit myself.
5) Another feature that would be useful would be to allow non-numbers to be
highlighted as if they were numbers, e.g. boolean "true" and "false" and other
literal values. That would rescue one group of keywords for other uses. Maybe
also recognition of negative numbers (currently you have to define "-" as an
operator to make the highlighting work).
6) Not really related to the other problems, but the selection colour for
"MS-DOS
Style" is identical to the foreground colour, making it impossible to see what
you are selecting. The line highliting colour is also dangerously close to the
foreground colour.
Much of behaviour is different from the built-in languages - shouldn't they
be the same? These problems severely limit what is otherwise an inestimably
useful feature.

i had the same issue.. you can turn it off by doing this:
go to Plugins -> ConvertExt... -> Options
there you see: "Brackleds Autocompletion".. disable it and your done.

I have been looking for a good text editor for quite a while now. I used UE
for a time, but it wasn't free and it had too many functions I never used. Why
pay for things I won't use? I have since been looking for that perfect text
editor and have tried out quite a few along the way.
At the moment I use Notepad++ and Crimson Editor, but I have to say that as
a webdesigner I feel more comfortable around Crimson Editor at the moment. This
only has to do with a few things though, and implementing them would make me
switch to N++ and never look back.
1. Crimson Editor has a wonderful way of linewrapping, making the code much
easier to read. Wrapped lines are indented by a tab, relative to where the line
originally started. Example:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetaur adipisicing elit,
sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore
magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud
exercitation ullamco.
Laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute
irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate.
Velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur
excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident,
sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id
est laborum Et harumd und lookum like Greek to
me, dereud facilis est er expedit distinct.
The first and second paragraphs represent a normal linewrap. The wrapped text
is indented, making it easy to tell wrapped text apart from linefeeds. The third
paragraph shows what happens if an already indented line wraps. The wrapped
text follows the indentation and makes code editing much more easy.
Naturally, the indentation of the wrap should be controllable in the same way
that tabs are. Likewise, the feature should be possible to turn off for people
who aren't comfortable with it.
2. When I select text and press TAB the selected text isn't replaced by a tab,
a tab is just added to the front of the line. This makes replacing bad
indentations
harder and is generally annoying.
Those are the only two reasons for why I still use Crimson Editor.

Wrapping is often ugly. What you suggest might be helpful. Having said that,
I try to avoid wrapping when it's annoying me. I use smaller fonts, and when
that doesn't help I use a cloned view with synchronised vertical scrolling so
I can see the start and end of the lines in question without having to see the
middle.
I agree about the tabs. You'd think that unless the whole line is selected
it would just replace the text as you suggest. However, I think I've never
replaced so text with a tab in my whole life, only inserted them. Do you do
this often?

I just tried using the advanced Search and Replace (^R) to search for (.....)
and replace it with \1^M (with regular expressions enabled). It inserted a
newline
every 5 characters. Some regular expression tools allow you to specify and
expression count, but I think in this case you'd have to put in all 100 dots.
Hopefully it can cope with such a long expression.
