I use np++ like external viewer(F3) and editor(F4) for TotalCommander. I miss
readonly parameter. Viewer(F3) should open file for reading only.
Thank you for this software...

Hi. I think that notepad++ it's fantastic but one more plugin for make it
incredible,
a snippet manager. I have a lot of snippet that if it's possible to manage IN
notepad++ it's perfect.
A dockable windows to list all snippet, editable with highlithing of notepad++
and inserting in the editing file with a click... it's a dream :D

On opening npp, it tells me that there is no disk in drive V, which is a virtual
drive (using Alcohol 120% [http://www.alcohol-soft.com] under WinXP SP2).
Clicking
any of cancel, retry or continue merely brings up the same dialogue again. It
will eventually go away if I click on cancel ~20 times.

And still this problem exist...
If this disadvantage could be repaired, Notepad++ would be the best text editor
for me. I'm wondering why this bug still exist. Any chance that this bug will
be solved soon? Would be great.

I see I can't edit my previous post...
Well, this problem exist only for me when creating a new file with Shift-F4
in Total Commander. Editing a file in a dir with spaces in the name is not a
problem. So as a workaround I created an empty batch file "0.bat" (0=zero) with
this line:
@echo off >%1
Than in TC I simply type e.g. "0 filename.txt", after which I press F4 on the
empty filename.txt file. This works good.
But because this problem doesn't exist with other text editors, I hope the
Notepad++
programmers will fix this problem.

Instead of checking for "doLocalConf.xml", why not simply check if the
configuration
files are located in the Notepad++ install dir? That'd get rid of a useless
0-byte file.

Hello,
I have copied the install files over my 3.9 directory. Now NP++ will not start.
It seems to be thinking but then just does nothing.

##Now NP++ will not start. It seems to be thinking but then just does nothing.
What does task manager say ?
On my problems above, one failure variant would have NP++ appear to start, but
it it was invisible. TaskManager thought it was running OK, but switch-to did
nothing.
I've restored my v3.9, but to do that I had to do a control panel remove-pgm,
delete \plugin contents, and do an installer.
So I can't run v4.0 RC, but I am looking forward to it....

Because *config.xml* is always in the Notepad++ directory.
