Also, Task manager does not show any running NP++. I have also rebooted. I
have also recopied the files over.

I'm not sure if this is relevent but last week I had an error where I ran into
a Overrun error "666" (or at least that is what the error said). At that point,
I lost all of my MRU listings. Since then MRU does not show up any more.

This might not be related but, you never know.

Regards,

Tom

GPF is due to Explorer.dll - it doesn't work on win2k/ME/98, Jens is working
on it.
Remove this plugin will remedy your problem.

Did you unzip all files in a clean folder?

It's Explorer.dll bug.

Please process the following instruction :
1. create a new folder.
2. unzip *ALL* the files into the fold that you just created.
3. rename *plugins* folder to *plugins.bak*
4. launch Notepad++.exe

Please let me know if it works.

Yes, create of a V40RC stub, and unzip into that, and then rename plugins
as something else (plugins_bak), and voila, it now starts in Win 2000. (no GPF)
[see also my other post, where delete of plugins folder contents was needed,
before
older MP++ would re-install/start]

Hi:

I am new to notepad++. I am used to Textpad which I think provide a great
feature for finding string in files. Here is one that I like

  a) You are reading a text file and want to find a particular string in files.
  b) Use mouse hightlight (or just double click the word) the words, then press
Ctrl+F5,
Textpad will pop up a dialog box to show the default/previous search
parameters
(such as regular expression, directory to search, file type, etc).
  c) A list of matched line, together with its file name, line number, will
be listed on a
     new text document (read only).
  d) Double clicking any of the line will open the respective file and position
the cursor to
     the line.

The thing that I missed is to highlight the text and press Ctrl+F5. In
notepad++,
we have to manually type in the text in the search dialog. F5 will find the
highlighted text in the current document.

  Any similar thing available?

Regards
Yoong

Seems like a nice editor app, but the "Show Indent Guide" button or menu item
don't seem to do anything at all. I'm using a zipped download of v3.9 to edit
a .html file.

Is this normal behavior for this feature? (Might be mode or language specific?)
Or is there some other setting that needs to be activated/adjusted first?

It just means that it should print the code as you see it displayed on your
screen. (With highlighting, or other styling that indicates various parts.)
I doubt it does anything such as interpretational WYSIWYG output based on code
(such as HTML-based Dreamweaver or GoLive, or any XML based word processor).
That's a whole other animal than this text-based source editor.

I noticed that it's actually there in a later experiment. It's just that the
default display is very faint and hard to see. (May even be invisible on some
monitors.) This might be a good setting for printing, but are there settings
to make display of this feature more prominent?

Is it possible to add "Highlight word" functionality like in Source Insight???
I mean add option "Highlight word" into popup menu to highlight selected word
(and/or background) with different color.
