Here are a couple of threads to try:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3154026
http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4266225
I did a search for config.xml on this forum by using the search box in the upper
right corner. It is interesting to me that the best response thread had the
exact same title as your post. --Joel

My apps work on linux servers.
But I love to code on my windows desktop.
I was searching for some open-source code-flow charting tool.
I saw Notepad++ accidentally at source-forge.
I really wasn't expecting it to be better than Textpad or Editpad.
Yeah, I have used them all, with all the plug-ins they have.
I know practically every feature & function that's available on all such
editors.
So I downloaded Notepad++, out of curiosity.
But I was wrong.
Notepad++ is BETTER than anything I have ever used before.
Only one word - FANTASTIC.
It's "light years" ahead of anything else.
I hope the search engine mandarins can pick this, line and the whole world knows
more about Notepad++

> 3. I don't think it's a good idea.
I think you are wrong, it could be great to be able to be able to dock find
and replace tab. Moreover it would be good to be able to have some favorite
find/find and replace, and some historic which could be directed selected to
make an action.
An each action a user name could be affected and could be directed accessed
without "menu d?roulant" (sorry I don't know english translation).
I said that because I often made the same search, and even more often same
replace
using regular expression. I think that it could be a inovative function which
could be made notepad++ better again than other editor.

+1 to support for XHTML. Don't know why it hasn't already been implemented.

Is there a way to select column number at which words with Word wrap option
turned on should be wrapped? I'm used to work with N++ in the maximized view,
but it makes lines so long that a plain text (not a program code or something)
is hardly readable.

I would love to see NPP with a neater, better looking GUI. At the moment it
looks a bit old and ugly. Also, the layout is somewhat confusing. This would
probably be a bit hard to implement though. Do you think it's possible?

It would be cool if there was a plugin that can display a summary of the HTML
or CSS structure for the current document (like in the Aptana plugin for Eclipse
or similarly to what does the function list plugin).
The big advantage of it is:
* keeping an eye to the whole structure of the document
* fast access to tags and style elements
* big document coding is simpler :-)

Also, "Home" and "End" keys work in Word Wrap mode in an unexpected way: I'm
awaiting that pressing "Home" key would bring the cursor to the start of a
visible
line (as it works in a browser's textarea), but not the start of the paragraph.

Apology accepted - I'll strike it up to a bad day :-)
Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the work you do and after trying
countless
editors Notepad++ is the only one that fully suits my needs and doesn't have
the nasty debilitating bugs of PSPad and others.
Please accept all comments here in the spirit they are meant - to help you
continue
to make Notepad++ the best editor out there!
By the way, by FindInFiles I meant SearchInFiles plugin, I've been working with
Jose on a few bugs with that.

There's no need for a plug-in for this: this is already possible, though not
by right-clicking, AFAIK. Just select some text, and under the 'Run' menu,
select
'Find using Google'...
If your 'Run' menu doesn't have a 'Find using Google' option, you can create
one with the 'Run...' option in that same menu. Then, in the 'Type your program
to run here' box, enter 'http://www.google.com/search?q=$(CURRENT_WORD)'. Click
the Save button, enter the name 'Find using &Google' and the keyboard shortcut
you want to assign this function to. Click OK, restart Notepad++, and you'll
see the new option under the Run menu. You'll also be able to use that keyboard
shortcut (unless it's already been assigned to some other function in Npp).

i gotta agree with that... and maybe some user customization? i mean that the
ui could be more configurable - maybe adding a custom shortcut to menu items
by eg. crtl+alt on menu item?
