When a file is opened by another application and can't be overwritten by
NotePad++
this can be seen because of the red "file changed" disk icon. There is no
message
showing the reason why this is, that the file could not be saved.
Could you please add this message to show when a file couldn't be
(over)written?

since 3.* i've seen drastic performance drop - when i open for eg. stylers.xml
and scroll, the scrolling is copping... can anybody tell me if it's my pc or
is this np++ fault
ps. i'm running athlon 2.0gh with 512megs of mem, win xp sp2

You can fix this by uninstalling notepad++ and re-installing it again.
I had the same issue as well, and I disconnected my 2nd monitor expecting all
the windows to return to the 1st monitor and notepad++ did not do that.
