As a follow up, I figured out that the TextFX works in conjunction with the
current Tab setting such that it will overide 'spaces -> tabs' using the TextFX
tool. This was not what I expected. Any claim that I may have inferred that
it was not working please disregard.

Thanks Don

I was surprised to see very little discussion on tags. I use them quite a bit
with other edtitors (vim, Kate/kdevelop) and they are somewhat of a crutch for
me.

And no... I'm am not talking about "ahch-tee-em-el" tags.

This released project is kinda old and was sorta broken with the latest version
of Notepad or a windows dll that is on my system (more likely the later)

http://openctags.sourceforge.net/index.html

Anyway I have fixed it such that it works as intended (not posted), although
it was not what I expected.
I'll have to read up one the rules for posting and such, particulary since it
is not my plugin.

So I should ask the community... What does everyone else use in place of tags,
in Notepad++?

I encountered some unexpected behavior while using undo <ctrl-z> although I
cannot reproduce the result as of yet.

After editing a file for quite some time with a large amount of changes, and
several intermediate saves I tried to undo something.

After pressing <ctrl-z> almost every change I made since opening the file was
un-done. Redo does reverse this correctly.

Closing and then reopening the file restores the undo/redo behavior to what
I expect (undo/redo the last change)
... I think?

I have seen this kind or behavior actually as a feature once ( group undo/ group
redo) so I'll ask.

Is there a setting that forces this behavior? None were obvious to me.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Hi,

I want to define my own language especially for folder functionality.
How can I tell the syntax that I want to have a "TAB" and a "BackTAB" for
opening
and closing a folder? Can I use a Hex Code?

Thanks a lot

I am using Notepad++ v3.6. I have the following line in my langs.xml file. I
want c++ syntax highlighting for files with an extension of .C.
 <Language name="cpp" ext="C H h hpp hxx cpp cxx cc" commentLine="//"
commentStart="/*" commentEnd="*/">

Even with this change, it uses the syntax highlighting of c only and not C++.
Is there a way to force it to use C++ syntax highlighting.

Thanks,
Ram

It would be nice to have a "/p" command line switch so that Notepad++ could
be associated with the "print" option

In V4.1 the "Close" button's location on the "Find" form is incorrect. It
appears
on top of two other buttons ("Clear" and "Find all in all open documents").

Background:
V4.1 was installed over 4.0.2.
Display resolution is 120dpi, 1280x1040.

Because Notepad++ is so nice someone (Chris Severance) has already done that.
It is in the TextFx plugin that comes with Notepad++. In the menu go to TextFX
> TextFX Quick > Find/Replace (or use Ctrl+R) and you have multiline
> Find/Replace
with Regex support.

Rocky

work around:

You can also leave the http:// off and it doesn't create the link, if that's
an option for you. you can always and it back in later with find/replace.

In version 4.x (in 3.x OK) I have a big problem in highlight - it not
return in normal status when typing.
Copy code at the end in Notepad++, set syntax PHP. Then try delete " (after
$get_id. - ln: 5 col: 23) - the HTML code is broke (it's normal). But type
" at the same plase where it was, the HTML code is still broken - it is
error. And I have this error in any other syntax when use ' ` " and some
other.

<?php
$select_sql = mysql_query("
SELECT id
FROM test
WHERE id = ".$get_id."
");
?>
<html>

<body>
<body>

</html>
