More general the problem is the following: the cursor X position is "lost" after
switching tabs. The cursor will be on the right line (Y position) in the current
tab after going there, but any move up or down by the arrow key will change
the cursor's X position into the position it was just before, i.e. the cursor
X position on the left (last visited) file tab. This _may_ be the X position
the cursor was on before doing a search in the first tab, so not the last
_visible_
X position on that tab.

Thanks for your really thorough reply. Much appreciated. I use HTML-Kit for
most of my work now, and will probably just swap out to it when I need to do
this. Thanks again.

Try to scan the file with another virus scanner, perhaps on-line.
Try to send it t someone else to check it on their pc.

I think it is also clear that for opened files the Save As dialog should always
allow to simply save the file in its current directory and thus start from
there.
Of course, allowing to choose to save a file to the last directory that was
saved to, allows to save all opened files quickly to the same destination
directory.

However, when wanting to open a file, just a saving a new file, where to start
or continue? I think remembering the last directory for the specific type of
action makes more sense than opening a directory that happened to be the last
one another file was written to (not on purpose, because of using simply Save
instead of Save As).

The question then would be: should NP++ start the File Open dialog with the
last directory a file was opened from, or should NP++ start from the same folder
over and over again (a favourite?), or even optionally the very last directory
_any_ action (save, save as) was performed in. Perhaps you could also add the
option to open the File Open dialog from the current file's own directory. That
would be similar to the Save As dialog always starting from the file's
own directory.

Also agree this would be very nice! Not just FTP, though, but just a general
"Publish" or file transfer tool. So it can do not just FTP but also "upload"
files across a network share. Most of the development I do where I am I'm not
uploading via FTP, but just copying across a network share from a test server
to the live server.
Perhaps somehow integrate the other opensource project FileZilla somehow?

Either having a bit of a problem or I'm not understanding how this plugin is
supposed to work. I'm seeing all of the folders in the explorer window, but
none of the individual files in those folders. I've looked through the options
for the plugin and tried reinstalling NPP and the plugin, but nothing seems
to fix it. Below is a picture of what I mean. You can see the "AUDIO" folder
is opened and the lowest level folder in the tree, but no files are being shown.
The filter at the bottom says *.* to show all files and yes there are files
in that folder.

http://www.pdragon.net/pics/explorer.gif

Am I missing something very obvious here or is something wrong? I am running
Windows 2000 and did see the bug about certain unknown icons not showing, but
saw nothing concerning this. Thanks!

I would like to see support for the D programming language added.
It isn't too much work I hope, since D is similar to Java and C.

Great project! That is what people need who have to use Windoze ...

I've got a theory about where your files are:
I started up Np++ to make a screen shot showing that the files are actually
in a separate window, when I saw that mine were gone as well!

However, here's how I fixed it:

http://tinus.coppoolse.googlepages.com/Explorer_file_list_disappeared.png

...drag it up, and...

http://tinus.coppoolse.googlepages.com/Explorer_file_list_back_again.png

I do think this is a bug:
If the explorer is open when I quit Np++, all is right.
If the explorer is closed when I quit Np++, however, the file list will be
almost
gone the next time I open Np++.

(I'm using Explorer.dll v1.3.0.0, BTW).

How do I copy new text over existing blank spaces and _not_ insert the new text
thereby pushing existing text on the right further to the right. Searchs on
insert, copy, blanks and a number of combinations of these 3 words gave
me nothing.

I believe that is the current behavior -- at least, provided the "Remember the
last operation directory" option is not checked. Try it.
