I have submitted code to Don for this feature. He'll probably consider
including
it in an upcoming version.
Regards.

Is there a way to automatically recognize Unicode when there is no initial
marker
(FF FE o FF EF, but in Windows i mostly need the first) ?? Now I have to display
the file in Hex editor and insert the bytes myself...

Finally, someone is interested in v4.1.1.
I'm asking myself if it's worthy to continue improving it ;)
> is there any reason, why hexeditor and explorer plugin are no more integrated
in npp setup?
Yes, these 2 plugins are not included in this version because Hexeditor makes
Notepad++ crash under some context, Explorer plugin has the slow-down problem
when there's a disconnection net drive. Once those issues are solved, they'll
be included again in the future version.
However, you may download in Notepad++ plugins project page if those issues
don't bother you :

Well, I don't post much, but if it's worth anything, I check the npp homepage
every day or two when I'm scanning for updated versions. I'm always very
excited
to find when more work has been done on the project, and I keep my personal,
work, and portable versions of NPP up to date. I also evangelize npp and know
many friends and coworkers who use it, and also appreciate your hard work on
this project. I even know one university computer lab that got NPP installed
on it. So ... hopefully you won't lose perspective. There's lots of us
cheering
for you!

Thanks don for these new version. Yes it is already very interesting that you
continue to improve it. Notepad++ is a very good product, but it is better at
each version, your last improvement on find/replace dialog boxes are very very
good.
Notepad++ is for me one of software which is made for the user and that is very
very good.
Thanks for your job, and for these new release.

Quote Don:

You must be kidding, I just looked at the download statistics and for the past
2 months downloads have varied between 5000 and 22000 per day! I'd say you have
a VERY popular editor there. :)
I have only been usin npp for a short time, but I have tried most of the
Scintilla
based editors, and (IMHO) yours is the best.
My only complaint is the lack of robustness of the regex search and replace
functions. I hope you can improve this (things like multiline mode and others).

I have trouble moving (reordering) tabs.
Sometimes, just out the blue, NP++ crashes with an exception:
"software exception (0xc0000094), location 0x0129d1b7"
Then, a runtime error will follow:"
Runtime Error!

When in Hex Edit mode, sometimes the tabs of the Find/Replace dialog are
switched.
If you open the Find Dialog with CTRL+F and switch to the Replace tab, close
the dialog and press CTRL+F again, you'll see the Replace tab bar is still "on
top", although the rest of the dialog is as expected. It seems the tab bar is
not updated, when the dialog invoked is the other as was last used.
Does this have something to do with tabs disappearing from the (main) files'
tab bar when moving and/or closing tabs there?

Is it possible to include a easy way of export and import the configuration?
because with the last update i killed all the nice configs that i made.
and i often switch between my workstations and my notebook, so it would be great
- if i changed something - that i easyly import and export the config! :)
because coping a bunch of directorys isnt very comfortable ;)

How do I remove line feeds from a file?
I had a csv file opened which contained values with a LineFeed ($0a) in it.
On the next line was a tab.
I wanted to remove these line feeds, but couldn't manage to do this.
If I selected the tab and the LF and pressed CTRL+R, it found only one, and
I seemed not te be able to replace any of them. I also noticed I could nou check
Selection or Wrap. Both options were disabled.
I switched to Hex Edit mode, but was puzzled by the weird mix-up of the Find
and Replace functionality (see the other thread about that).
Finally, I managed to get what I wanted by copying the complete file to a new
tab. Replace worked fine there. I copied the lot back and saved my file.
Could this have something to do with LF/CR and/or Windows/Unix/Mac conversions?

Of course I meant to type CTRL+F/H already on the first subject.
