Hello,
first i want to say "thank you" for this really great tool, it really helps
me with a lot of things!
but one thing i do miss: when beginning a tag value with CDATA (<![CDATA[...]>)
all the content of the tag is coloured orange. why not let it be, so that one
can differ other html tags inside the CDATA? maybe just colour the CDATA
statement
orange, but let the content be coloured standard-wise. Dont know if this has
been posted before..

Thanks.

There are troubles with all characters, not just with chinese or say arabic
characters : in an UTF-8 text file, search fails most of the time, even when
searching for a signle ansi character.
I've noticed this bug for a long time ago (about one year, but I was not able
to find the post I've made at this time)

Not sure if I totally understand your problem, but have you looked into the
Convert To Windows, Mac or Unix Format options in the Format menu?
Also have a look
at http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/newlineFindReplace-HOWTO.php for all
the methods available for newline searching and replacing? I've found the
behaviour
odd when I try to specify the search string by selecting it before starting
the search and replace command, so I prefer to use control+R in non-regexp mode
and use control+M and control+T to specify newlines and tabs.

None of the above helped.
I found a config.xml file in the Application Data folder under local profile.
Removed it..
Now my Notepad++ starts fine and there's no errors after closing either.
Good luck
It works!!!!!

Chris Severance, many thanks to you :) Indeed, the Ctrl+R command works fine :)
That's strange... I had not noticed the TextFX menu before... shame on me.
Why not simply substitute the Ctrl+F command with the Ctr+R one ? This would
be the simpliest and the best solution...
Any way, thanks again Chris Severance, you've saved me

I would like it if there was an Editor option to draw a line between functions
in the code, which makes code far more readable without the user having to
manually
create one each time using comment chars. Something like this:
function abc()
begin
do something...
end
___________________________________________________________
function 123()
begin
do something...
end
___________________________________________________________
EControl Systax Editor does this and it is effective.

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks.
Notepad++ is one of the smoothest and fastest apps i've ever used.
Awesome. Thanks :D

I've just had the same problems with a bit smaller file. I work wtih a Windows
version.
Notepad opens my 100Mo file (about 4,14 10^6 lines) but not my 250Mo one. Lines
are all about 20 to 25 characters.
I managed to open it with a shareware (Textpad) but found no other text editor
able to do it.
Carine
