Noticed that HexEditor plugin has been removed with the recent 4.1.1 release
of NotePad++ release.
This change isn't shown is the changelog.
Was this behaviour intentional? Or is it simply an omission? In any case,
please,
get HexEditor plugin back, please! I think this one is useful!

About this UTF-8/UC2 search problem, do you use MustDie98 as your operational
system?
Because several people from China and Poland told me the searching is OK for
them under 2000 and XP.

I'm using v4.1.1 and experience similar problems: sometimes NPP does not startup
(no error message, nothing). I always have to delete the session.xml from the
AppData-Dir, then every works fine again.

I would like to be able to place a single quote character in front of alle
selected
lines.
For example:
----------------------------------------
commenting some stuff.
and some more
The I would select that line
[commenting some stuff
and some more]
The I would like to be able to press a hotkey to have n++ replace this with
'commenting some stuff
'and some more
----------------------------------------
I tried some things with the regular expression replacements. But n++ started
to hang/crash.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

sorry, didn't try the menu, which supports "block commenting".
Still does anyone know how to do this using hotkeys?

After this last update (4.1.1) i freaked out a bit, because my np++ wasnt
showing
anymore.
Whats the case: i had open files from a network share, what windows hadnt
"re-mounted" yet. So when np++ was loading, it hopped in the background/was
hidden, until the network share timed out (20sec?), in stead of the old "The
file [file] isnt available anymore, do you wish to keep it?"-dialog. Is there
any way to reset the old behaviour of np++, so i can get started right away
when i start np++?

recoard a macro:
select your comment, record, cut (ctrl-x), type a ' and paste (ctrl+v). stop
the macro and save it as you like with the wanted hotkey.

Yes, you remind me... I should have mentioned that I already have turned on
"Show all characters". That's how I know I have to replace only the LF
character.

string:
<%@ Language="JScript" %> or <%@ Language="JavaScript" %>
