Normally, this issue is fixed in v4.1.2.
It should be due to one of plugins you use.

Remove one by one then relaunch Notepad++ to see if your problem is solved.

Let us know which is the quilty one ;)

Don

My hat's off dear! Thank you for the quick and appropriate feedback :)

I removed DLLs for plugins one by one and found the guilty,
-> Explorer.dll 228 Ko (233.472 bytes)
"Explorer Plugin for Notepad++ v4.0.2 RC v1.1 RC"

Afaik, this plugin came in bundle with notepad++ 4.0.2 I installed in the first
place. And I reckon I use to update my tools with binaries.

I really think notepad++ is great, only that I came across weird behaviours
with focus here and there, I sincerily hope these were due to the unstable
plugin
I removed. When I come across another problem of events/focus I will apply same
method again and eventually post a new topic on your forums with long
description
;)

Thx again and keep the excellent work! ;) One excellent point of this proggie
is it is a complete solution while it keeps opening tiny files in a split
second,
unlike UE and other "cheap" stuff :p

What does the encoding ANSI refer to? Is it the Windows code page 1252?
If so, could that be stated explicitly in the menu entry (German
version)?

The MRU (Ctrl+Tab) is greate function for me.
But when the file list is very long(i.e. opened a lot of files), only the middle
part of the list will be shown (the start part & end part of the list is
invisible).

Can you make the list be scrollable (or fit the monitor's max. display height)?
Otherwise, the MRU seems no use for long file list.

P.S. What MRU stand for?

Thanks Don :-) I was thinking of supporting (displaying) unicode strings in
my multi-clipboard plugin menu (pasting is fine). I'll think about what else
I can do.

LoonyChewy.

Yesterday, I subscribed and posted to the mailing list
"[email protected]". However, so far, my posting didn't
appear on the list, nor did any replies. Is the list broken, or is it
moderated,
or whatever?

That's the best solution, IMHO. But for this really excellent editor to go
to the top of the heap, where it belongs, it has to have an automatic backup
capability. Not having it is truly a market killer. Auto backup in other
editors
has saved my butt on more than one occasion. This is not just idle chatter.

The current version of Explorer seems to fix the focus problem. You can
download
it at https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/.

Settings: Preferences: MISC: File Status Auto-detection. Between the two check
boxes, you should get whichever mode you prefer.
