Oh, dear! That time, the HTML entities did *not* get converted to plain text.
Sorry. I don't understand the rules of this SourceForge message editor.

To decode my message, if you can mentally convert all the
ampersand_amp_semicolon
sequences to ampersands '&' in my second post, and leave all other characters
as literals, then you'll get my meaning.

Greg

What a good news!!!!!!!!!!!! Notepad++ is already a very very good editor, but
I am sure that with a editing column mode it will be absolutely the best.

Thank you Don for your hard and very god work

Hi!

First of all, Notepad++ is a great program! :D

But what I really miss is the possibilty to edit recorded macros by hand in
Notepad++ after recording them and to be able to store them without assigning
a shortcut.

Are there any plans to enhace the macro support?

Frapl

N++ has a lot of nice features and I like to work with it - from time to time,
and much under its capacities. I am still forced to work with my rather old
Homesite editor, because it is one of the very, very rare editors which offer
the comfort of an good working SCC plugin.

I wonder if its so difficult to make or if so few peole use SCC......

Hi there,

I've just reinstalled my Vista and npp. Now I have got two problems with npp:

- opening files by context-menu, won't do anything
- opening files by open-file-dialog works fine, but changing and saving files
does not show any effect

I've tried changing the permission for npp-folder, or even for the folder of
files I want to edit. Nothing works.
Starting npp as admin will give me the error "Error creating process: nppcm.dll
needs to be in the same directory than notepad++.exe", like in this thread
(http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4202660).

Thats weird, because I used npp on Vista, same version, for month, and none
of these problems appeared.

Regards,
Daniel

I have a suggestion regarding the multi clipboard. Do you know PsPad? It has
an record mechanism for clipboard as well. I like to have a dockable window
like PsPad.

IMO advantages:
- Unlimited numbers of snippets
- preview of snippets
- "WYSIWYG"
- options are changable via toolbar

If you don't like to implement this feature, I do this ealier or later ;). If
you like to implement it, I would like to support you, also regarding unicode.

BTW: You are welcome to host your project
on http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/

Best Regards
Jens

Hi there,

I've been using the hex editor plug in in 4.1 and when I migrated to 4.1.2 it
was no longer installed.

Could someone tell me where it moved to, or do I now have to load
it separately?

I've fallen back to 4.1 in the meantime.

Thanks,

Graham

Currently there are no plans, but I thought also on implmenting this. There
are several solutions in other OS programs. First of all scintilla itself. It
provide a plugin with explorer, project manager and - this is was my focus -
macro recording and editing. Or someone implements the phyton based solution
of PN2.

Best Regards
Jens

How does work Split lines ? It doesn illogical thing to me - or i perhaps can't
understand it.
How should one customize Tidy ? its XML indent could be ok, if it did not
changed
characters to &-#; entities.

I have a jabber roster and i need migrate settings from one transport to
another.

So i basically have to
1. record macro "F3, right-arrow, enter" (F3 searching for closing tag of the
tag, i need to split lines upon)
2. after that i would need to grep all lines not containing specific substring
- transport domain name.
3. Then several text substitutions
4. at the result i would have an XML to directly feed into XMPP server.

But it all seems to be an overkill!

All i need is to grep XML tags and then replace one substring in them for
another!
PErhaps i would better try to learn IE DOM API, XPath, etc...
But i wonder why such simple functions are not meet in GUI ?

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a UltraEdit replacement, so I came across Notepad++,
which seems to be a good product.

Now about some features, can anyone tell me if the following are available? :

1# Column Editing mode - Like the way seen in UltraEdit, that would be a great
feature;

2# FTP File Open - Can I open a file via FTP directly? Then on save, the program
automatically replaces the remote file also via FTP.

Thanks
