There are two explorer plug-ins - a Explorer, and a Light Explorer.
When using the 'regular' Explorer, at the bottom, there is a filter dropdown
box named "Filter" to allow you enter file types you want to see. You can have
more than one file type you want to "allow" to see. Just separate them by
semi-colon
(;). For example, you want to see text file and jpeg files, type "*.txt; *.jpg"
in the filter box, you will see text files & jpeg files.

This "Explorer" I do not see among the plugins, in the release I downloaded
today. Nor do I see it among the plugins available for download at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/
The "Light Explorer" is the one that appears to have been "of preference" with
the Windows executable install. May I somehow otherwise find this plugin of
which you speak?

Sure, no problem. You can find it at
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php. It's about two "PageDown"
near the bottom. It's called: Explorer plugin by Jens Lorenz. Download version
1.2 (assuming you are using latest NPP), extract it into your installed NPP
folder's plugin folder.
For example "C:\Program Files\Notepad+\plugins"

First of all sorry about my bad English and thanks for this good editor!
I used this User Language Define System to define the syntax higlighting of
a not so well known BASIC language and I got few problems with it.
First of all, this language has some ending block commands whitch consist of
two words instead of one.
There is a command called Function which defines a function whick will end to
End Function command. This confuses Npp's ULDF because it believes that words
End and Function does NOT affect to each other. Therefore it would be good if
I could either put the commands like that inside quotes like "End Function"
or define another character (i.e. comma ",") to split different keywords and
commands, so it would look something like this: SomeCommand,End
Function,AnotherKeyword.
Another is that it should be possible to shape text which is quoted like this:
Print "Some text."
Or maybe I just didn't find these features?

Your message isn't all that clear to me.
Are you saying I can build NP++ from the source code using MS 2005 VC++ Express
Edition?
Could you perhaps give a simple, yet complete description of what files to
download,
how to install and what else to configure? Please be specific, because I can't
make much of your detail listing above.
An other message on the Open Forum is speaking about MFC.
Did you have to download or install that?
Where did you get it, in that case?

Hi, I'm pretty new to Notepad++, and am getting to know the regular
expressions.
One thing, I can't figure out how to do this.
Say I have the text abc="123", but I want it to say xyz="123", IE: changing
the string name. Any idea's on how to do this?
