Hi,
is it possible to add a message returning the version of Npp?
This message will ensure developer that other messages/notifications like
'NPPN_SHOUTDOWN' are implemented in the user version of Npp.

I also require a notification when the user is switching from Scintilla main
view to secondary and vice versa.
Actually this can retrieved by 'NPPM_GETCURRENTSCINTILLA' but this makes a mess
when reacting to others notifications.

Recards
Jonas

This seems to be fixed now in 4.4! Thanks a lot to whoever added that much
requested functionality. It takes Notepad++ one step nearer to perfection (and
from my point of view, there's not a huge number of steps to go...) :-)

PS - Someone might want to update the micro-pledge page.

Thanks a lot for adding this functionality! I haven't tested it fully, so I
don't know how closely it mirrors my suggestion, above, but it certainly seems
to cover the most important cases. Thank you so much!

Hello,

I have just installed the new 4.4 version of Notepad++ and I am having a problem
saving new files. I develop in a language which uses the file extensions .f,
.m, .r, .s, .t and .v. Since installing v4.4 I am now unable to save new files
using these extensions.

If I attempt to save a file called 'test.v' with 'All Types (*.*)' in the Save
as type section of the Save As dialog; the file is renamed to 'test.txt'. The
only way I can currently save files with another extension is to manually rename
them outside Notepad++.

Is there a way that I can add my own extensions to the 'Save as type' dropdown,
or turn this feature off?

Thanks.

I've hit a pretty nasty bug with 4.4 that has forced me back to 4.3.

With session restore enabled if I used the "Clone to another View" on any file
then close npp, upon relaunching npp hangs and never starts. If I delete the
session.xml then npp can start again but my remembered files are lost.

Hope I've given enough info to recreate the bug. Great editor keep up the good
work!

In the release notes of 4.4 I see this:

Add NPPN_FILEBEFOREOPENED, NPPN_FILECLOSED, NPPN_FILESAVED, NPPN_FILEBEFORESAVE
and NPPN_SHUTDOWN plugin notifications.

I find this very interesting because I'm trying to write a plugin which does
transparent encrypting/decrypting of a file format we use internally. This
requires
that I should be able to change (decrypt) the file when it's loaded, an change
it again (encrypt) the file when it's saved, so for N++ point of view, the file
isn't encrypted at all. Can I achieve this with these new notifications?

I was hoping someone could provide some more explicit directions on compiling
notepad++. I'm using visual studios at the moment, and compiling the two VC++
projects in the power editor folder of the download and running into errors.
Could someone provide some guidance please?

Thanks

I was hoping that the regular expression searches for beginning/end of line
(^ and $) would be fixed, but nope, not this release. Will keep waiting.
