You can reproducably crash notepad with these steps:

Prerequisite: a link to notepad++ is in the Sendto-Folder (C:\Documents
& Settings\Username\Sendto)

a) Start notepad++
b) In Windows explorer, select two or more files (e.g. 'A.txt' and 'B.txt'),
open the context menu and choose 'Send to notepad++'
c) A message box opens with the following message: 'C:\A.txt C:\B.txt doesn't
exist. Create it?'
d) If you choose 'Yes' then notepad++ immediately crashes

Note that this crash only occurs if notepad++ is already running.

I often edit files where I have to copy large text blocks. Sometimes it takes
me a minute to press the arrow down key. Is there an option to do this more
efficiently? An nice way should be a command like "copy lines 1 - 2000".

OK not much more discussion on this point for my mind.

Yes you can be a purist and spell it OK, however this a useability issue. Do
most people know that Ok stands for OK? Yes, is something that slows people
down due to confusion? No. If it takes too long to change it isn't worth
doing.

The English language is a constantly moving and changing thing. One day you
write it one way the next it can be done differently.

Or on the new macs be a real man and run Windows. ;-)
(jk: macosx baiting).

Or actually a better alternative is to run Linux (I have tested this under
Ubuntu
7.10) and run it under Wine.

It runs sweet as a belle for me.

It seems to me that Scintilla could actually be holding this project back?

Are there alternatives and if there are would it be worth switching to it?

If not is there a way for the developers to more closely collaborate to improve
both projects?

When I Alt+drag (from top-left to bottom-right) to select column, there seems
to be a bug - if my mouse is in a line where the text does not reach that far,
then the right boundary of the column will be reduced to the last character
in that line (for the previous lines too).

Unfortunately, it seems this is a bug with Scintilla probably, because some
other editors I used based on Scintilla also behave similarly. Will it be
possible
to fix this?

Thanks,
Arnab.

I don't think it's necessary.
However, you can do it if you want.
