Negative. Use menu File->Exit - it exists for that! I don't want this behaviour personally since I often close all the files then keep a new one to do the draft. I am using fortran for my assignments(economics!) and I defined the fortran 90 format since notepad++ only works with f77. But I really liked the function list! I tried work with the example in the help but it did not work. How would you set the values to define functions and subroutines in fortran. They are quite simple, say: subroutine ex_sub(x,y) ... end subroutine ex_sub cheers, ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I personally think that if you were to close all files there would be no more context for notepad++ to refer to that last directory it had used. That exit feature would be kind of unneeded, what would happen if notepad++ were to start up with no files open? Close again? :-> ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Well, I won't say that. But it's true that you should read the older posts before you write - it'll save you a lot of typing time :) As well, the philosophy of Notepad++ project (same as all the Free Softwares) is : The project is not belong to anyone, since the source code is available and your right to modify it and to redistribute your modify code is protected by GPL. So feel free to get the source code and modify it as you want. If you want your modification included in the official release so anyone can benefice from it, your contribution is welcome. Here you can post your patch: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=95717&atid=612384 It'll be more appreciated then the bug report or feature request. As the only developer in Notepad++ program, I prefer to deal with patches than with the bugs or feature requests. OTOH, it's not a kind attitude to ask someone to do the feature you need. Those ones who work on this projects (The plugin authors, the translators, the ones answer the question in this forum) are all volunteers - they don't get pay from you. In order to get more out of us, you should consider trading in some of your time and efforts in return. No, I dont expect this. I would expect, that the Notepad++-Updater didnt Access an IP, but uses an subdomain to contact the server (like "notepad-plus.sourceforge.net"). Additionally, i would expect, that a DNS-Request for the SF-Server-IP didnt return a subdomain of one project, but returns the main domain (without project-specific subdomain). But: No Problem, this isnt a really problem, and so everything is fine :) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The input of the word your cursor was on seems to work fine on the first look. Could you remove the focus on the word so I can continue writing? 2. The options are totally confusing. Also in the last version I didn?t really get most of them (exspecially the project and non project in brackets): Could you make it more clear? Creating of project folders also don?t seems to work (tested only in the last version yet). Thanks for the improvments! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I am using 4.6 and it happens to me to. A while back I experienced this error also maybe in a earlyer version. I re?nstalled windows yesterday and the new Notepad++ seems to have this error. I am using the folowing setup: Op: Windows XP Professional CPU: Dual Quadcore Xeon Mem: 4 Gigabyte The interface seems "retro" (Windows 3.11 style) Other then this bug/error, I want to note that I really love this software! Maybe you should commercialize it using (non intrusive) targetted ads using for example Google as partner and offer a banner free version for a small fee per computer :) Best Regards, Jan Jaap ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. You just glimpse the name and you never forget it and always believe you know what it is for. Great. Well done. My impression was a replacment for notepad with one key word inputs (like a zx spectrum every key writes a programming word) Right. I am probably right but now that I come to read it maybe download it I see that the description is in expert lingo (and it is I will clarify it) You say: It is a binary with a Graphical user interface... and it is but so is Windows and every other program that runs through windows (and so is DOS and Minesweeper also is a binary with GUI) in fairness my monitor is a graphical user interface. It doesnt do any other stuff. Gui is standard unless you are watching a movie or working without a monitor screen Obviously this Notepad ++ has a stack of differences to the notepad on my computer but I use my notepad for various stuff that range from words to html. OK so I dont think you are going to wipe out my notepad but in fairness the programmer is the generic source code editor. Notepad++ is a tool. Apart from compatability with other source code editing stuff What does it do? What is tooled into it? Does it remove my old note pad? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Do you mean focus on the word in the editor or the whole word being selected on the CCompletion dialog? If you mean the latter, you can press right arrow button and continue writing. The selection is there because, often you want to just lookup an identifier and have the cursor over some word, so you need to be able to delete the selection quickly. Originally, it is intended for the user to start CCompletion before starting to type an identifier. It just takes a little while to get used to it. You can usually predict whether you will need autocompletion before you start typing away. 2. I noticed and fixed a few display bugs - menu options would not display selected settings properly. Fixed and uploaded the new version. You add a new line in the .ini file for each project. The line should contain the directory path of the project. Any files located within project directories (and subdirectories) are considered project files, all others are non-project. The settings are logically divided for both groups. As for the creating of project folders not working, I don't understand what you mean. Could you be more specific on what doesn't seem to work? Thanks!
