How does that solve the general case of ungreedy matches, smart guy?
E.g. Matching the closing tag ("/<font[^>]*>.*</font>/U")

Since I posted a message about this a few weeks ago I for one would be really
happy to see this become part of the main build. I was hoping somebody (I guess
Don) would have an opinion on if it should be an option in the preferences
dialog
or something else.
Whether or not this change was in response to my message, thanks!
Out of interest when I looked at the code with a view to doing this I only
thought
it would be neccessary to call 'setSearchText'. Why is the invisible dialog
required?

18.000 handles? Christ, sounds like taskmanager has a bug :)
If it does indeed have 18k handles, though, my gut guess would be the explorer
plugin leaking Find*File handles...

I used np++4.6,but still find that is can't show the "Line Number" entirely?
For example, line "1111" ,it shows line "111".

First off: I love Notepad++.
Recently discovered the Foxmarks plug-in for Firefox which seamlessly stores
your bookmarks on a central server so that wherever you connect from, the same
set are available to you. And then I thought how good it would be to have
Notepad++'s
settings and macros available from each of the many machines I have to use.
What are the chances of such a development taking place?
Perhaps the workaround is to run Notepad++ from a memory stick...

You can use the options of Notepad++ for remake the associations.
Settings >>> Preference >>> File Association
Or to other application, you can make so :
right click in the file, hint properties and change Open with : ... (choose
the program that you want)
