Has anyone else run into this, or can anyone else confirm this happening on their copy. i can reproduce on both my machines. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Since N++ does warn when a file has been changed externally, it would also be welcome if a warning or question appears when the file is closed in N++ and was not reloaded before. Because the document's contents in N++ are different from the contents of the external file itself, warning the user about this is as justified as asking if he wants to save a document that was changed inside N++. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It is almost same as Russian with an addition of two letters. 04e9 CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER BARRED O 04e8 CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER BARRED O 04af CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER STRAIGHT U, 04ae CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER STRAIGHT U The problem is: - I can not type these additional letter in Notepad++ (I am getting ? - "3f" in hex), but if I type it in MS Notepad and load in Notepad++, they are displayed correctly. So I need still use MS Notepad. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I also downloaded swedish.xml and put it in the c:\Program Files\Notepad++ equivalent directory. The problem is that i seem to have some of the menus in english still while the rest is in swedish. Is it normal behavior and if not, how do i go about it? If it is - can i remedy it somehow? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. See http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Keyboard+Shortcuts for other shortcut keys. You can also use alt+WW in cases where there are too many tabs for one row. Or get a wider screen. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I would prefer the old color I had - same color as in bacground of main menu "File Edit Search ...". How can I do that? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I have followed your suggestions, but the startup delays is still here. I downloaded the zip file and extracted it into clean directory, but nothing has changed. I even purged all settings from C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Notepad++ directory, but to not avail. I have already pinpointed the source of my problem - when I temporarily rename the file LightExplorer.dll from Notepad++'s Plugins directory, the delay is gone and the application starts up instantly! What the heck is that plugin for? And why am I the only one who experiences this problem? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I have reformated/reinstalled the OS about 3 weeks ago and I keep running a defrag regularly once a week, so the OS should not be the one to blame. ;-) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Say I was comparing two files (!!!but I just realized that all line in both files end with CARRIAGE RETURNS ONLY and not Windows carriage return + newline): file 1: ---------------- a dog a rat a cat ---------------- file 2: ---------------- a dog a cat a rat ---------------- The difference of course being the rat and the cat are on different lines - which the plugin correctly identifies. However, on one of the lines being shown as different, the last char is missing: for example: "a ca", instead of "a cat" (and I discovered when I "Show end of line" in N++ that cat is actually ca[CR][LF], ie, ca+carriageReturn+lineFeed) So I thought one of the files had "a ca" in it but it had "a cat", the difference (between the files) is that the lines where transposed. The actual files where about 900 lines long and lines are roughly 100 to 200 characters long. The caveat I see is that I had manually changed to the end-of-lines to carriage return only (actually I had had to remove all newlines from the files). I can change the line ends back to Windows format but I hadn't because everything else (including Excel) I was using on the files worked without a hitch so I left them as is. So exactly now I just ran the plugin again the sample file data shown above (after saving them in Mac format, ie, carriage returns only) and you can see even stranger results than I described. So this is reproduceable. I'm almost sorry for finding all this out. Thanks - I wish I would have given better info the first time around. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
