Sorry for the confusion, my last post was in response to "and without regular
expression checked, how would you insert a tab?"

For those of you who are more in tune with the development side of Notepad++,
does this appear to be a bug in Scintilla? It appears to be a bug, regardless,
as \\t should produce a \t in the replaced text and not a \TAB.

Possibly this has been addressed in an updated version of Scintilla (latest
is 1.75), so you might try asking over on their forum (if they have one) to
see if there is another way to tackle this?

I have tied SmartSVN to Notepad++ by setting the preferences for the External
tools to run the N++ exe as the command for file pattern *. In SmartSVN, this
causes the file to be opened in N++ when double clicked. While I would like
to find a more complete integration this works for now.

It happened again. I was doing the same thing, alt-tabbing from borland pascal
7.0. Any ideas why it messes up the keyboard?

Hai Harry,

Cool!

But alas, you're right, HTML copying doesn't work; that needs some more
information
(so as to enable copying of HTML fragments):
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa767917.aspx

Copy RTF to clipboard works fine, OTOH.

About the regular expression that gets an extra space, it turns out to *be*
a single space, it merely looks like two spaces; I've no idea why. Anyway,
here's the expression (javascript):
if(id = file.Name.match(/ - (\d{6,})_/)) {

As for the large file size, that can be reduced quite a bit by using shorter
CSS class names (.s0 thru .s14 instead of .SpanClass0 thru .SpanClass14, for
example -- those get repeated pretty often), and by encoding the HTML file using
UTF-8, and writing character #160 directly instead of using the entity
(UTF-8 requires two bytes for character 160; whereas the entity requires six).

Just by applying these two tricks, I was able to reduce a file from 354.420
bytes to 250.778 bytes. (30% gain!)

If you don't implement it, it might be a nice one for the FAQ. Or something.
:-)

Keep up the good work,
--
Martijn

Perhaps this can be done by or added to the Simple Script Plug-In?

You're welcome!!

Hi guys,

I really really like Notepad++. The other day I bought myself an imac. So here's
my question. Do you know if it is possible to run Notepad++ in Mac OS X 10.5
(Leopard)? If not, are there any plans to port Notepad++ to Mac OS X?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Bart

I downloaded the latest version of SciTE (Scintilla's demo text editor) based
on Scintilla 1.75 and it exhibits the exact same behavior.

search: times
replace: \\times

expected output: \times
actual output: \ imes

I'd recommend opening a bug with Scintilla as it will eventually propagate to
Notepad++.

What is Mac OS X? Is that something like Linux?
If so: try searching the f***ing forum first before you ask questions about
it again and AGAIN!!!

There's jedit for all your platforms. It's free and has 144 developers instead
of 6 for N++. Looking at these numbers, N++ is remarkable.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/jedit/

While the Mac OS is way way way better, you won't get any "sympathy" here.

I'm pretty sure there are no plans to port N++ to Mac OS X.

But your new iMac should have an Intel processor, so N++ should run just fine
in the Windows compatibility box, whatever it's called, that Apple provides.
I don't know if that Windows compatibility box comes by default with Mac OS
X 10.5 or if it requires a separate purchase.

Regards.
Greg

Well, you in turn will get no sympathy at all, because you are prejudiced. The
problem is that someone doesn't look for answers before asking questions. That's
not so smart, even for someone who seems to be smart enough to use a non-M$
product or OS.

But let me remind you, it's not at all about the OS, even if one is better than
the other. It's what the user does with it. I guess you yourself are not so
smart a person, then.
