Having to click on each one individually to perform a particular task is a bit annoying. -- Danny ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. First of all, please let me congratulate you all on how good this editor is. I have been a Gvim user for a long time, but when i discovered notepad++ i decided to give it a try, and so far i have been impressed by how well you developed it. However, I do have a tricky question on how to manage encoding in Notepad++. Precisely, I would like to know if it is possible to tell Notepad++ to preserve the original encoding of a text file. I found the options for the default encoding of new files, and I choose UTF-8 but, as far as i was able to see, now Notepad++ uses UTF-8 as the default encoding also when opening existing files, with absolutely NO FEEDBACK on how the original file was coded (it does not tell you if it had converted it or if it already was UTF-8) In simpler words: I am searching for a way to tell Notepad++ to do this: "In new txt files, use my preferred encoding When opening existing files, do not convert them to my preferred default encoding, but use the existing encoding" Thank you for you time! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I was so frustrated with the tabs that I was about to write my own windowmanager and then I looked in the pluginsforum and saw You've already done it! Great great great! Thanx alot! Oh, one improvement I'd enjoy would be the possibility to move around and sort the documents, let's say by clicking and draging them within the list. Merry Xmas! /Per ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
