What is your OS?

Could you launch Notepad++ WITHOUT PLUGIN on command line :
cd "c:\Program File\Notepad++\"
notepad++ -noPlugin

then tell me if it crash again?

If it doesn't crash without the plugins, could you remove the plugins one by
one
from "c:\Program File\Notepad++\plugins\" to see which plugin causes the crash?

Thank you

Don

ps. Has anyone else the crash problem?

Hi. I'm using NPP (not the installer version, but the zipped version) and have
downloaded the GUP (auto-updater). I've placed this into a folder called
"updater"
in the NPP directory and it's showing up and appears to try to be working.
But I keep getting an error "Could not resolve proxy: null; Host not found."
Where the world "null" is actually a square character. I've made sure
my gupoptions.xml is set to our company proxy along with the port number. I
don't want to list this information here, but it's in this format:

<GUPOptions>
        <Proxy>
                <server>xxxxxx.xx.xxxxx.xxx</server>
                <port>xxxx</port>
        </Proxy>
</GUPOptions>

Any ideas of why NPP is giving this proxy error?

Thank you,

DataCrypt

I was just checking this out myself, and it happens when you
Open a file in the primary view
Move it to the secondary, thus closing the primary
Close notepad++.
Notepad++ crashes.
No crash if you close all files in the secondary view, but restarting notepad++
and using the context menu to open files results in the file being opened in
the invisible primary view, giving the described behaviour.

The crash occurs if there are open files (New # don't count) and the primary
view is invisible.

I believe this is not plugin related, but more in the sessions, deleting
sessions.xml
resets everything back to normal.

There ist a bug with the +/- buttons. For example, if im trying to write the
following 3 lines in a HTML document:

1 <html>
2 <head>
3

And if im hiding an then deleting the <head> tag, i got a hidden line.

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7515/buget3.jpg

In this picture you will see just one line, but i have written some characters
at the invisible line 2 (Ln:2 Cl:21).

Due to a serious bug which makes Notepad++ crash, Release v4.7 is removed from
sourceforge.
The fixed version (v4.7.1) will come in a few hours.

Don

I wrote an external python script to help in creating a unified style across
languages (primarily colors and fonts). For example automatically setting the
"NUMBER" foreground and background colors to the same thing across all
languages.
The script allows you to set up global as well as language-specific defaults
(for example: default background is dark blue, with ligher blue background for
javascript for asp pages)

The purpose is to allow you to easily set up a unified color/font scheme across
all languages without having to go through and modify every entry in every
language.

The question is where should I submit it?

> Right now I don't use it because of this lac

That's your choice. It's either doing a little extra thing and be content about
it, or throw it away because it lacks one convenience.

> - it's a swell editor, but I didn't realize how often I used it until I didn't
have it.

Oh really, you DID throw it away? LOL.
Perhaps you should rethink your action and pick the other choice, then.

Program crashes when i try to save a new definition derived from an existing
one (i.e., press save as) or try to create a new language (pressing new)
Just out of curiosity, i attached windbg to it and it returned the following:

maybe i have too many userdefined languages? i've checked the userlang xml file
and found no errors
