I think, it will be great to show find results in tabs. Example: you search
"smth1" with find all, it displayed in one tab, then you search "smth2" and
it displayed in anothe tab. So you can view results of different searches.
You can view this feature in the NetBeans 5.5. Right click on any variable or
method -> find usage.

You're not alone!!!!!!!! NP++ is my to choice to edit a broad range of files,
some of which have extensions that aren't associated with anything and some
have no extensions. You can always drag ANY file onto a NP++ window, so it
wouldn't kill me if the (right click) context option was taken away.

But DO NOT DO IT!!

I've also started getting this bug since upgrading to N++ 4.7.5 on WinXP SP2.

I assumed it had come in with the latest update as I've never experienced this
before, but the lead message in this thread shows it's been around quite a
while.
Puzzling why I've only just started getting it as it now happens very
frequently.

Hi,
I'm a big fan of Notepad++, and I use it all the time. But as you found
out, it doesn't handle excessively large text files very well (nor do most text
editors). For very large text files, like the ones you described, I usually
use a program called "Large Text File Viewer". The latest version is 4.1 and
you can download it here for free (but it does not appear to be open source):

http://www.swiftgear.com/ltfviewer/features.html

It seems to work by only loading a portion of the text file into memory
at a given time. It's not a very well-polished program, but it does what it
is designed to do (read and search large text files) very well in my experience.
Hope this helps. If anyone has a better suggestion for viewing large text
files,
I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

-JP

And guess what... short before that on one of the other fora a similar question
was asked, with, of course, the same answer.

There is something which creates big CPU usage.
Today I had light explorer active and after 15 minutes I had to reboot again.
Fans started to turn and I checked the cpu usage: 30-50%.

I don't know what it is but it is very annoying.

The latest release of WinVi is of a little more recent date (2006) than
lftviewer
(2005). The latest WinVi beta is of a recent date (2007).
http://www.winvi.de/en

It has been mentioned before:

I like the way NP++ is already with the context menu associated with all files.
I can choose to not select NP++ for files that I know are not readable
in plain-text.

However, if you wish to modify this behavior, Softpedia distributes a program
call ContextEdit.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/ContextEdit.shtml

In my opinion it's a good idea to change the default behavior on files with
executable content such as .reg and .bat files.

And what I forgot. It?s most important for me for files without an extension.
I think it?s not possible to have a default behavior there.
