How can I minimize notepad++ window?
Currently I use 4.6 version. Is this feature implemented in future releases?
I would like to use SHIFT+ESC combination, but I can't find how it can
be customized.

Although I'm just working on some .c and .h files consuming about 100KB on disk
in total, np++ memory consumption sometimes peaks up to 700MB.
This happens only if I work with split view and function list open, changing
from one view to another. It does not always happen, but at least after some
hours of work. If this happens np++ is blocked and my system slows down. After
waiting a while, the memory load goes down to about 200MB and np++ becomes
responsive
again. If I shut down np++ after this, the memory load peaks up again and np++
is ended with this error:
MS Visual C++ Runtime Error: "abnormal program termination" nd "R6025 -pure
virtual function call"

I use the current version 4.7.5 with winXP and I tried out Function List Plugin
v1.2 final and Function List Plugin v2.0 ALPHA.

Is this a known bug? If not tread this as a bug report. Otherwise please give
a workaround.

Thanks.

It is still a bit buggy.

No possibility to close the plugin.
In explorer pluging there is a "v" sign in the plugin menu.
Clicking again the plugin is disabled.

Why don't you do the same with the simple script plugin?

There are also problems in the plugin tabs:
- the name of the plugin is not readable on the tab. what I can read is "imple
Script"
- if the simple script tab is not active, the simple script tab is empty, no
icon
- the simple script tab is taking almost the whole width of the plugin tab bar.

why don't you put only an "S" inside the tab (active and not active).

The menu with the various functions (changing case, clipboard functions, loading
and saving files etc) is too small. I cannot work in it on my screen.

oeps forgotten:

the close botton leaves a gray area and when clicking the other plugin tab back
to the simplescript tab, the simple script plugin is open again.

I'm not sure how to get a macro to remove the date-field separators?

Also, the date includes 3:42 AM (variable length since could be 11:03 PM) at
the beginning that I'd like to remove or move to the end so that the final is

DATE::20080217

OR

DATE::20080217 AM 03:09

so that it sorts in time order.

ctrl-F5 now gives 3:42 AM 2008.02.20

Insert the date, press record, use ctrl arrows to move to the beginning of the
date, type "DATE::", use ctrl-delete to remove unneeded timestamps, ctrl-arrow
to move to the dots and delete to remove those too, then stop recording. Save
the macro and voila :)

Use SHIFT to select the variable length part, in combination with
CTRL+CursorRight
or CTRL+CursorLeft. This will select "by word" instead of "by character", which
will ignore the variable length of the numbers.

Here is how to compile and execute Java source files. This is used under the
run command of Notepad++ (hotkey F5).

Compile command: cmd /c cd "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" && (javac "$(FILE_NAME)" ||
pause)
Execute command: cmd /k cd "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" && java "$(NAME_PART)"
Open CMD: cmd /k cd "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)"

--Additional stuff--

Here are my entries in shortcuts.xml:
 <Command name="Javac" Ctrl="yes" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="49">cmd /c
cd "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" & javac "$(FILE_NAME)"</Command>
 <Command name="Java" Ctrl="yes" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="50">cmd /k cd
"$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" && java "$(NAME_PART)"</Command>
 <Command name="Command Prompt" Ctrl="yes" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="51">cmd
/k cd "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)"</Command>

Note: shortcuts.xml is in Notepad++'s base folder (C:\Program Files\Notepad
PP\) or if you're using Notepad++ portable its
in ....\Notepad++Portable\Data\settings\.

Note: Notepad++'s Run can be used to execute CMD commands in the same way I'm
showing. The cmd /c executes the command then terminates. The /k executes
the command then the CMD stays open.
Here's some info: http://www.ss64.com/nt/cmd.html and
http://commandwindows.com/command1.htm

Also note: If the java or javac commands aren't recognized in the command prompt
this is because java/javac isn't set under environment variables (Located under
MyComputer>Properties>AdvancedTab>EnvironmentVariablesButton) and so CMD doesn't
know where to find these programs (java.exe/javac.exe). I'm pretty sure that's
right.. try google-ing "java javac environment variables" for more info.

Hope this helps. GL.

I forgot to update one of the commands.. in the shortcuts.xml it should read:
<Command name="Javac" Ctrl="yes" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="49">cmd /c cd
"$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)" & javac "$(FILE_NAME)"</Command>

The update is to pause when an error occurs (such as a compilation error).

Arg, scratch last post:

pause)</Command>

Yeah use:

(F5) > cmd /c javac "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)" || pause

instead.

The || means only execute pause when javac fails.. which is just what you want.
Take a look here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490954.aspx under
the "Using multiple commands and conditional processing symbols" section.
