Well, it seems to work fine for me, so that doesnt make it easy :).
Have you tried pasting into Wordpad? Or a clipboard viewer for that matter?
I have no idea what could cause this problem.
Do regular clipboard operations work? (should though, the plugin is supposed
to warn about problems)

Right-click on the shortcut you use to open Notepad++ (whether on the Desktop,
in the Start Menu, or both), and select Properties. From there, you can change
the 'starting directory' (the setting is usually "Starts in:" or "Start in:")
that Notepad++ will open in by default.

There's been a few bugs with the release, so it's been pulled pending a fix,
which should (hopefully) be up within the next few days. See
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1953360&forum_id=331753 .

I think the entire 4.8 section's been removed from the SF download directory
for the time being, anyway.

Do you get the UAC prompt every time you open Notepad++, or just when you call
it from IE?

I have a list of data in a .txt file.
When loaded in Notepad++, all lines are separated by an extra blank line,
probably
cause of extra CR/LF (CarriageReturn/LineFeed) in the file.
How to get rid of all those blank lines?
Is there a delete blank lines function?
(there are too many files of too many lines to delete them one by one)

Thanks

I know there's a method of deleting trailing spaces, extraneous blank lines,
and for turning tabs into spaces... But I can't seem to find anything that will
delete leading spaces from a document. Anyone have any ideas? I've read the
help docs, scoured the forums, tried pressing random key combinations while
doing a one-armed hand-stand and re-reading the help files (okay, it wasn't
a ONE-ARMED hand-stand but come on give me a break, I was reading the help files
upside on my monitor waaaay up on my desk)... *g*

Seriously though, I've looked all over (even Google'd it) and I'm stuck... I've
got a large (somewhere around 27,000 lines long) text document and there's
situations
like this:

-- example of my text, somewhat exaggerated to show the spacing problem clearly
--

Text on one line has none.
This line has three leading spaces.
But this one might only have one.

This line, leading a new "block" of related text lines off, may start with
one.
And the other two lines may have none.
Zip, zero, nada. Just sort of random like this.

-- end of my example --

I want to preserve the blank lines between "blocks" of data (there's four lines
to each "block") because the data in the first line essentially is a title and
the following lines all relate to it - and all of the few thousand "blocks"
follow this same exact structure. Aside from the seemingly random leading spaces
(which is all I need to be rid of to be able to actually USE this huge chunk
of data) the file is nearly perfect for what I need Notepad++ to be able to
do to it.

Thanks for any help you can provide me, and thanks for taking the time to read
this if you can't help me.

Doing a brief search of these forums I found the following answer on this
thread:

http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4691695

"What do you mean by automatically?

You can do it manually.
Menu: TextFX
Submenu: TextFX Edit
Option: Delete Blank Lines

But you have to make a selection first (probably CTRL+A)."

(Anonymous/Nobody)

And per the following thread you should check out the URL below (under the
thread
URL) for some info on that kind of action.

http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4294814

"For empty lines, see
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/newlineFindReplace-HOWTO.php for all
your options."

(pshute)

Hope those help you. :)

Great program!!!

I have a problem sometimes when opening a file (via windows explorer right
click,
or double click) in which the file doesnt load correctly.

File info appears correct in the status bar, but the window displays "New X"
and empty contents. As soon as I click on the window, the status bars resets
and shows the empty file data: nb char:0, etc

Seems random until now, cant reproduce it at will

Thanks again for this great app. It rules!!!

I'm sure you can do it with regular expressions, but I prefer to use the Simple
Script plugin (admittedly that's mostly because I created it).

The script is a one-liner:

TrimLeft(" \t")

Make sure there's a space before the backslash. "\t" means TAB, so this would
trim all leading spaces and tabs from the left end of each line.

You'll need to download Simple Script separately if you haven't already.

There's also a TrimRight and a Trim function.

Hello,

I am not so familiar with Notepad++ so I have a (probably stupid) question.
Tonight I have created a very nice news bulletin for all of our fans.

How do I get that in a e-mail, in a proper image or real bulletin.
When I use the execute button (Firefox), it goes well and I see a nice bulletin.
But that is as far as I can get.

What do I need to do, to get the bulletin in an e-mail?
Please help...

Jack

When I open HTML files they always open as Normal Text and I must manually
change
the Language drop down to HTML. How can I get Notepad++ to open HTML files as
HTML automatically?
