To: notepad-plus-plus@lists.sourceforge.net Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi All: This is nothing related to techniques, so if you are not interested, please ignore the following & I am sorry to waste your time. I have been using Notepad++ for quiet awhile and pretty happy about the features it provided. Thank you for all the developers for your hard-work. Today I saw your "Boycott Beijing 2008" "logo" on your homepage, I feel sad. I feel sad not because of the boycotting itself, only because I think politics and tech should be not mixed. Everyone has their right to speak out and make comments, but I dont think an open source tool&related resources should serve as a platform for this issue. I have many reasons for not boycotting beijing 2008, but I will not list them out at here, because again, it is not a right place to do so and it against my belief about open source. I only want to say: open source, open mind and listen to both sides voice about the so-called "human right issue about China". Me and all of our group members will NOT boycott Notepad++, because we dont think boycott could do anything good and it is also unfair to hard-working developers ( just like boycott Olympics is unfair to athletes), but please give a second thought about what you are doing here. I'd _really_ like to know when the user changes a file from read/only to read/write and vice versa. I finally found out a workaround to change the file state via calling menu_handling functions. But that only toggles read/write - read/only. I have no way of knowing what I am toggling _to_, unless I keep state of each open file. So: a notification when file changes mode, and a way of asking what mode the file is in would be great :-) /Bj?rn ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Removing NPPTextFX.dll fixed the problem, but I didn't want to lose the features it provided. Finally, I went into Documents and Settings, my User Name, Application Data ( hidden folder ), and Notepad++ where I found the file. Also, rather than deleting the .ini, if you instead open it and change the values VizPasteBinary and VizPasteToEditorEOL to 0, the problem dissapears right away. Just mentioning this for other users who were confused like I was/don't want to delete their .ini. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Often I will be editing two groups of similar files, maybe in different points in a dev timeline, so I'm frequently checking the full pathname info during copies and edits. It would be great to be able to assign colors to different directories, say to two subfolders in htdocs for example, so that the file tab and gutter for htdocs/subfolder1/index.html would be blue and htdocs/subfolder2/index.html would be red. Thanks again and keep up the great work! M Bowers ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I use a "black" background and I have not found a fore/back setting that is easy to see. The foreground and text style settings has no effect on highlighted text. The backgound color blends with my current background and the blend does not appear to be adjustable. I really like these features as it closly mimics tags... help. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Actually, I've added my own execution commands into "shortcut.xml" file. These commands are simple DOS batch files, and I wish them to be executed into the DOS command line, so the messages appear in NPP interface directly, and not in separate DOS window. Any idea how to do it ? Thanks :) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
