Within the MISC preferences, under 'File Status Auto-detection', 'Update
silently'
will not stay checked if I close the Notepad++ app. I've got 'Enabled' checked,
and it will stay checked after closing, but everytime i reopen Notepad++ 'Update
silently' is unchecked.
I'm currently using version 4.9.2
Thank for any info as to what I may be doing wrong
ockky

Anyone know how I can create a coldfusion markup for Notepad++? I like the
"pretty print" text indention for the XML plugins.

the function of NP++'s macro is poor.
some other editors can use vbscript to implement macro.
Hope NP++ can do so. then NP++'s macro will be more powerfull.

Hi Mr Notepad++,
After receiving numerous emails about the weakness of the cryption algo I was
using I finally got round to updating the plugin.
The plugin now uses blowfish cypher and encryption is very hardcore.
Binary:
http://www.x86coders.com/public/SecurePad_binary.rar
Source:
http://www.x86coders.com/public/SecurePad_src.rar
Hopefully when you have time you can update the site :) Thanks

For any file, NP++ will load the whole file content first, then display
on editor.
If the file is large (say 1 GB), the loading time is very long.
I will have to use the "Large Text File Viewer"
http://www.swiftgear.com/ltfviewer/features.html
However, it is quite annoying to make a decision before opening a file, and
the program seems got bug on searching keyword. Also, this is just a viewer.
Is it possible to make a feature that NP++ able to display the file content
while loading the whole file?
Thanks

Bob,
You'd need to edit the macro directly in the file
%AppData%\Notepad++\shortcuts.xml.
There's no easy user interface, of course, so you need to consult the source
code for the Scintilla message codes any details about codes and meanings.
You'll probably want to first record a stub macro with a few dummy commands
so you'll have something to start editing. Here's an overview to get you
started.
For each macro step,
(1) the first parameter is an integer indicating the type of step:
0 = Windows WM_NOTIFY message, using an integer LPARAM,
1 = Windows WM_NOTIFY message, using a string parameter,
2 = Windows WM_COMMAND message (i.e., a menu command).
Macro steps with a Scintilla message will be of type 0 or 1, not of type 2.
(2) the second parameter is an integer indicating the message id. Typically,
this is a Scintilla message, one of the SCI_XXX constants in the file
scintilla\include\Scintilla.h
(3) the third parameter is an integer giving either
(a) the WPARAM parameter, for type 0 or type 1 macro steps, or
(b) the menu command id, for type 3 macro steps -- these ids are defined in
the file PowerEditor\src\resource.h
(4) the fourth parameter is an integer giving the LPARAM parameter, for type
0 macro steps,
(5) the fifth parameter is the value of the string constant for type 1 macro
steps.
Regards.
Greg

Is there any way to export the list of sites I have saved? -- or even just
access them (via save location) and manually copy them over? If so, how or
where is it located?
TIA,
Carn

This is great, thank you, Don! Also please think about that filename only in
the window title, I guess it's easy to implement it (1 checkbox in preferences).
