sweet jebus!!!!! tag highlighting at long last!!!!
$20 donation officially earned.

maybe in future versions, options to:
- highlight just the tagnames rather than entire tags when cursor is inside
the tagname only
- highlight a tag's both matching angle brackets when cursor is just outside
and adjacent eg: |< or >| or />|
- highlight unmatched (unclosed) tags with a different style
...for ideal operation of this functionality, check out any SynWeb-based
editors.

if you get a chance, please add the ability to close the last unclosed tag by
typing </

thanks,
Leon

You could always save a copy before you start, and use the Compare plugin.
Not as convenient, but it's available now. And you'd need to use something
like that anyway if you wish to check what changes have been made longer ago
than the current session.

I posted this bug before, but maybe it was overlooked:

i changed the stylers.xml and noticed that the hidden CR LF pairs (when
displayed)
obey the "default" styling for the active syntax, while tabs and spaces are
always black....there simply is no way to change their color, and it's pretty
much unusable with a dark background color like the one in "Ruby Blue"
stylers.xml
on the NP++ download page.

ideally it would be great to be able to style "hidden characters" independent
of the "default" syntax color, they are really way too intrusive and hard to
distinguish from regular text.

hope it's an easy fix, let me know if it's a scintilla bug, i'll file it in
their/his bugtracker.

regards,
Leon

p.s. - the donation from your page link went to "sourceforge" which is sort
of generic, hope it gets to you.

Now having said that there seems to be a problem with this RC on applying
language
styles.

I seem to have problems with files with a name like foo.class.php. I can fix
it by changing the language to something other than php or html and then back
to php.

I need something like this too... I have many very long lines, and want a
"Select
Current Line" option, after which I can then Ctrl C to capture the entire line.

however I am happy to use a "select line _12054_ to _12054_" feature if this
is the implementation decided upon.

I wanted to select the current line and did not even know about this magic
hotpoint
feature until I found this thread.

Perhaps a context menu option "Select current line" should be provided, which
does the same thing. Perhaps even with a shortcut key as well.

I got the syntax highlight problems on PHP too.
But I don't known whether it is caused by the file name or not. Some of the
PHP files with this problem are named like "XXX_1.php", "XXX_2.php", etc.. But
I cannot change it back to PHP highlight using the method mentioned by
CodeNexus.
And I load those file using "Load Session" function.

html structure is fine.

Menu_____ : Settings
Option___ : Shortcut Mapper
Button___ : Scintilla commands

Line 90__ : SCI_LINEDELETE (Ctrl+E for me)
Line 91__ : SCI_LINECUT (Ctrl+L)
Line 92__ : SCI_LINECOPY (Ctrl+Shift+T)
Line 93__ : SCI_LINEDUPLICATE [no shortcut defined, but]

Line 16__ : SCI_SELECTIONDUPLICATE (Ctrl+D, no selection = duplicate line)

You probably don't even have to select an individual line in order to do what
you want.
You can immediately erase, cut or copy it.
You can even directly duplicate a line and then move it by using Ctrl+D (without
a selection) and then Ctrl+Shift+CursorUp or Ctrl+Shift+CursorDown.

Another approach is a rigid selection mode, which you activate by some key and
selects all text from that position to the current cursor position. You can
easily move the cursor around then to the desired other boundary. If search
functions would be sensitive, they could work together to move the cursor only
to the (next) match without selecting the match then.

An alternative would be to have to press the rigid selection mode key twice,
once for the starting position and once for the ending position. It would allow
to jump (back) to either the starting or ending position, like bookmarks, that
don't "remember" the inline cursor position. This would also be the case if
there were two separate keys for the rigid selection boundaries.
