I have worked with Notepad++ for some days, it's function rich and fast for
small file, but for a big file(actually not so big, see 1M) it will get so slow
when search.

Hope this can be improved.

It looks like an error... I'll debug the sources to see what's wrong.

I have used gobby quite a bit and enjoy the ease of use when multi-tasking
different
files and setting up groups to finish certain projects while we're working.

But gobby doesn't have the wide range of features and plugins that Notepad ++
has/supports, so I was wondering if anybody could start working on a networking
plugin to emulate gobby-style multi-client programming sessions.

I would do this myself, but I don't have the time, and I don't have the
experience
of coding plugins for Notepad ++ to start up right away either.

Sincerely, Some anonymous guy :P

Yea, here's another mistakes lots of people make before/when posting a request:
searching the apllication, its help files, its website and this forum for the
same or similar requests and answers.

Perhaps you should take a look at FileHamster to get what you want.
See how easy it can be to get something you want SIMPLY BECAUSE IT IS ALREADY
THERE?

Yes, me too, I would do all of this myself, but I also don't want to spend my
time on it, neither time to learn about all the stuff etc. etc. etc. so I am
simply demanding others to do it for me.

Hi Admin,

Notepad++ already highlights batch file variables (%VARIABLE%).

However, there is another kind of batch file variable (!VARIABLE!).

The variables that used with exclamation points do not get highlighted!

These variables are only effective if 'delayed expansion' is enabled:

SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION

Here's a good website to learn more about delayed expansion:

http://www.robvanderwoude.com/variableexpansionexercise2.html

Or, you could just paste this code in a file.bat and see real quick:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
@ECHO OFF
SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION

::>>Current File Directory:
SET "FILE_DIR=%~dp0"
::>>Trimming Trailing Slashes From Dir Path:
SET FILE_DIR=%FILE_DIR:~0,-1%
    IF EXIST "%FILE_DIR%" (
    SET "VAR1=myvalue!"
    ECHO VAR1: %VAR1%
    ECHO VAR1: !VAR1!

    SET "VAR2=myvalue^!"
    ECHO VAR2: %VAR2%
    ECHO VAR2: !VAR2!
    )
ENDLOCAL
PAUSE
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe Notepad++ could check and see if the 'ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION' is
present in the file before highlighting all the exclamation point vars.

That'd be a pretty nice feature...I just thought of that one right now!

Notepad++ is already awesome. Has been for years! I can't imagine using
any other text editor. It's light weight, feature rich and easy to use.

Sure would be even better if it would highlight exclamation point vars.

I could re-create the whole syntax coloring scheme and name it Batch2.

But when other people view my scripts I send them, I want them to see
the exact same thing I'm seeing. So, the only way I knew how to do
this was to post this in the forum so maybe an admin would see
it and hopefully make the change in the next version;-]

Happy Coding To Everyone! Enlightening Regards,

futuresource

Hello,

Is there a way (or is development being done) to allow keywords that are
compound
(multiple) words?
For example, in the programming language I am attempting to configure, to make
one type of loop, the keyword at the beginning is "DO WHILE" and ends with "END
WHILE."

Thanks.

Hi. I have a suggestion for a bugfix.
In some languages (eg. C++), if you make a backslash immediately followed by
a newline, you tell the compiler to ignore them both. This can lead to very
subtle and annoying bugs. Eg:

//A comment here - note the backslash \
if (readyForDeletion)
    delete(file);

The above will run delete(file) no matter what, because line two is technically
a part of the comment on line one.
But in Notepad++ this is easy to miss because the syntax highlighting does not
follow the same rules as C++

I just installed 5.0.2 to try it out and unfortunately this single bug will
prevent me from using the editor. Too bad because otherwise it looks great.

This translation files were edited and fixed by Aviramof
Credits are still due to the original translator who's name
is not know to me at this time!!!.:)

the file Notepad++-Hebrew-Lang.rar containe two hebrew
translation versions one with the languges menue translated
to hebrew in the best way i could have done it. :)

the other version the languges menu is not translated to all
programmers who might not like my hebrew translation. :)

some very small parts of the softwere were not yet translated
due to difficults in the translation identification mechanisem
of the softwere itself perhaps problems would resolve in the
:) .future in the next versions and etc

Rar File Containe the files:

nativeLang.xml:
Hebrew Translation with languges menue translated.

nativeLang-no-langs-menu.xml:
Hebrew Translation with no languges menue translated

Readme.txt
Txt File With information and installion instruction about
the translation.

installion instruction:
install Notepad++ extract the desired file With
winrar to the installion folder rename if
necesery to the require file name nativeLang.xml
start the softwere and Enjoy My hebrew Fixed
Translation.:)

Comment would Always be welcome at the
Appropiate Thread.:)

Link to The Rar File Containing the translation:
