For fun, I try to compile notepad++ from 5.03 sources. All the debugs report many errors because many elements are not found in the scope. (I have tried with code::blocks under windows XP) I haven't found any document about how to compile npp on the web site. Can someone help me to setup the environment : - MinGw version or VCC version - include files to add, if necessary - procedure to use the makefile (commmand and options in command line if it is mingw) - ... Thanks in advance for help ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Luckily, at home, I can still use the good old clear layout, with the forum search button in the upper right corner. A search for "+text +block +replace" results in 34 messages. What you actually want to do is replace some text by a block (multilines) of other text. If you try "+text +block +replacer" this will limit the results to 4 messages. You should be able to find something useful in at least one of them. I haven't tried a search in the newly available setup. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Extending this to "+replace +files +multiline" you would find 5 messages, including yours and one other being recent that might have lead you to the Ctrl+H suggestion. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. In the function list forum I found this post: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2018293&forum_id=670934 After adding doLocalConf.xml to my np++ root folder suddenly the hightlight problem occured. So now I either have a broken function list, or broken highlighting I really hope the fix both issues fast. I'm using np++ each day and am already looking for other editors... (or will download version 4.2, which is working correct and don't wines about updates ;-)) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Why is that? Why would you bring up something as an argument and not clarify? Aren't we allowed to judge this ourselves? I really don't understand why you wouldn't consider searching the Notepad++ forums themselves about the subject and rely on a general site like Wikipedia. There really have been numerous posts about this in the past around here and who would know better than users of the very application? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I tried it and it failed on 16bit code. This is on a Windows XP box. Hope that helps. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I tried reinstalling, with the same results. There are two problems, folding and unfolding. Though, as long as you first scroll to the bottom, everything works. :-* I am using mainly PHP. How do you contact the developer? Or is there a bug-reporting page? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I'm running Vista Business. When I paste text into Notepad++ there's a bunch of trailing NUL characters with other ASCII chars in between. Thought I was going crazy. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Excuse me for checking unverifiable alternative sources before deciding to broach this apparently controversial topic for discussion. I mean no harm. I agree that Notepad++ is a great program...it's just for me I'd like some clarity on the file sizes that can be created using color syntaxing. By comparison, some proprietary software like Microsoft Excel explicitly tell users the limits of its iterations that come out every so often. One such limitation was the often heard rule you couldn't create complex nesting formulas because the limitation was 7. Now documentation explains this has been lifted to 32. It's nice to know stuff like this. So in my opinion, it wouldn't hurt to have this information upfront in some documentation built into the program. That's all. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
