I've been trying to figure out the styles for Ruby on Rails ERB files. Notepadd++ keeps thinking that I am editing an ASP file even I added the erb extension to HTML and PHP styles. This works but there is something extremely annoying when there is a quote character (') because Notepad++ thinks that there is a comment there and the rest of the line looks off. Thanks for your help! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. When I run Notepad++.exe, it starts, creates C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Notepad++, and immediately exits. I never even see a window. Some history: this machine previously had npp 4.something, and I wanted to upgrade to 5. The installation didn't go smoothly, so I uninstalled Notepad++, deleted the C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Notepad++ directory, and installed afresh. Is there any additional crud Notepad++ leaves in the registry that I'd need to clear out? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. A bug with the incremental search feature, which originated in v4.9.x, is still present. It was previously reported there: http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5167540 http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5130221 When I use the "enter" key (return key) to search forward, and then put the cursor somewhere in the window with the mouse, it selects everything between the first result and the new cursor position. Same thing if I hit the ESC key to end the search, the cursor goes back to the first result, instead of staying at the last matching result it found. However the incremental search behaves perfectly well when clicking on the search box's arrows instead of hitting the return key. Thanks a lot for an otherwise great editor ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. That's why one should not waste their time implementing - it's already been done. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. This feature can be found in TextPad (http://www.textpad.com/) and is extremely handy, to demo it download and install the free trial. Do a find in files then double click a result to open the file, or right click and select open all etc. Cheers Al ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Here's how to reproduce it: Open a file and paste this code: for (j=0;j<N;j++) { if () { } if () { } } with THIS indentation (the important thing is that the final "}" has no indentation, and the rest does). If you select the entire block and press tab, the final bracket "}" will not move. If you shift-tab until the matching bracket has the same indentation (in other words, if you shift-tab until the "for" line has no indentation), then it works: press tab and you'll see the entire block shifting, including the "}" that was previously missing. I'm using 5.1 RC ANSI, but actually this bug has been around for a while. As far as I know, this bug might have been present since the first version of NPP. It's just so meaningless that I've actually never reported it, but now it has come to my mind. I don't think I'd ever waste my time fixing it if it took more than 5 minutes... ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Ok, I'll try it this way: (tab) for (j=0;j<N;j++) { (tab)(tab) if () { (tab)(tab)(tab) (tab)(tab)} (tab)(tab)if () { (tab)(tab)(tab) (tab)(tab)} } It's not very clear, but I wouldn't know how I could write it otherwise, sorry. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Now, how can I create a User defined language to treat such strings as comments or just ignore them Thanks ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
