I am trying to create a user defined syntax for Wiki files (specifically
TiddlyWiki
at the moment). Because of the nature of the Wiki format, e.g.
''this is bold text with double single quotes''
[[this is a link | http://mysite.ext]]
--this is strikethrough--
{{{
this is code
}}}
etc. etc.
I would need to create many different 'comment blocks'. I am new to creating
syntax highlighting and am wondering if there is a way I can edit an xml file
or something to enable multiple comment blocks because the user define dialog
only allows one.
Does anybody know if there is a file I can edit or another method to do this?
Or if this is even possible?
Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

There's a faster way to open that dialog: you can use the icon that is in the
icon bar on the top. The icon looks like a yellow lightning in front of a
window.
It should be just below the "Window" menu. Anyway, if you pass your mouse over
those icons, you get a quick description for each of them.

Hmm,
Isn't this always the way, I've just worked out that you can double click a
specific line in the results and that opens the file with the focus on the
specific
line.
I'd still like to be able to open the file from the result line that has the
file name and path in it (bold with green background).
Textpad also has the ability to just show match counts so if you know there
will be loads of matches and just want a list of files to reduce the output
in the results pane.

Choose 'Encode in ANSI' in the 'format' menu.
Hebrew works for me when ANSI is used but not when utf8 is used.

When I start N++ on my laptop, it takes some time to load. Deleting plugins
seems to speed it up. Any other suggestions on decreasing startup time?
(N++ is not _slow_ to load per se, but there are other scintialla editors which
start up instantaneously. I'd like to achieve the same startup time with NPP
if possible.)

Thanks, Y N. I downloaded the file, and it is a great help. I only wish that
the find dialogue box didn't disappear with any successful "Find in Files"
search.

I suggest adding PHP5's instanceof keyword to the list of keywords in langs.xml,
so that it can be highlighted properly.

I think Notepad++ uses Scintilla to handle the indentation, you might want to
report the bug there.

Make sure you are not starting a previously loaded session (especially with
networked files), and prevent Notepad++ from checking the recent file list (both
options are in the preferences dialog under MISC).

There is a bug when using a macro that copies text.
Steps to reproduce :
1- On line, let say 25, begin recording a macro
2- Pick a word (highlight + ^C)
3- Go to the begining (Alt+Home) of the line and do [Enter] and go to the new
line (Up)
4- Copy (^V)
5- Stop recording the macro.
Now watch out :
5- Go to line, let say 30 and play back
=> the curor will always go to line of the recording (25) and play back there
instead of playing line 30.
