Then you are looking for a line comment.

A line comment does not require the character sequence to be at the start of
the line. Everything to the right of the line, after the desired character
sequence,
is commented with a line comment.

What modification? It's a PHP5 class so it up-to-date. I'm using the latest
stable release of Notepad++.

Are you saying this problem will be fixed in the next stable release?

Thanks

I use Explorer 1.7.3 on Notepad++ 5.0.3 for a while, just notice that, there
a sorting bug on sort by file name ascending/descending.
e.g. when sort by file name ascending, just the upper part of the list is
sorted,
and some files, like 'ABC.txt', end put to end of the list without correct
order.

Hi
Open 2 existing files
modify file 1
move to file 2
press the "save all" button
the button doesn't become greyed out

Use a large C++ file (my test file is 580 lines long)
Open in notepad++
press Alt+0
expected behavior - entire file folded
actual behavior - only a few functions at the top of the file were colapsed

perform the above test but go to the bottom of the file before pressing Alt+0
entire file folds properly

This is fixed in v5.1 (still in RC, official release has yet to come).

The crash happens due a compiler bug (or atleast thats what it seems like)
causing
problems with files with wrong modification dates. This can happen if it was
send over the internet or archived, or some other program changed it. Opening
and saving in notepad resets the date to the current and thus prevents the crash
from occuring.

The next stable release should indeed have this fixed.

I have the feeleing there is some kind of bug that resets it to zero, not sure
what it is though.
SOmetimes it gets reset with me too, but I also recompile alot so the setting
may be overwritten by the template.

Anyone that can reproduce this as a bug?

Hello Don,

I've found this error: One of the windows in NPP (5.0.3 and still in 5.1)
showing
the edited file is not updating at all.

Sorry for the long explanation following, but I think this is the only way to
show what is happening.

Before we start: 1. I read a message describing this problem one or two months
ago and I could not reproduce it at that time.

2. I develop WinSize2 for a longer time now (but on another computer AMD 2.6MHz,
this one is an Intel Pentium M running actually with 600 MHz) and I never !!!
saw this effect before.

The scenery: WinSize2 is writing 2 files: FileB about 4 sec after FileA. Both
files are displayed, the one in the primary the other in NPP's secondary window.
(You can change the windows or put both in the primary window: the effect is
always the same.)

Settings: "Automatic recognition of file changes" (or how it is named in the
English version):
(Checked) "Activate"
(Checked) "Quiet activation"
(not checked) "After actualisation scroll to end"

Both files are INI files but are declared now as plain text (INI or plain text:
the effect is the same.) Both files contain a Date/Time entry, so you can see,
whenever a display is updated:

[Settings]
LangID=0407
Date=2008-10-18 16.15.29
[Lang_Msg]
M1000=German: The Original
...

FileA is always updated at once with the correct time, FileB is normally NOT
updated showing the date and time it had before.

AND is updated when you change the focus to another program and back to NPP
(this is what the other user reported in the other thread before).

=========================================

In other words: You start with a correct display, NPP has the focus:

FileA showing 16.15.29 and
FileB showing 16.15.32.

You rewrite both files, focus changes my program and back to NPP.

FileA showing 16.20.24 and
FileB showing 16.15.32 as before.

You see when a part-window (the primary or secondary) is repainted (means:
canvas
repainted = the view is updated): the secondary win with FileB was repainted,
the primary with FileA was not; it is repainted when you change focus to another
program like the editor and back.

=========================================

Next try 2: this editor has the focus, my program WinSize2 rewrites both files:

focus changes to WinSize2 and back to the editor. Both files are NOT repainted.
This happens for both files, and when NPP gets the focus next time they are
updated.

=========================================
Try 3:
now: (not checked) "Quiet activation"

Same as Try 2: editor has focus, WinSize2 rewrites files, editor gets focus
automatically again.
NPP: no reaction (as it should be - as designed).

When you change focus to NPP then you are asked in this order:

"FileB is modified, reload?" and
"FileA is modified, reload?"

I say YES and files are reloaded and repainted.

COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM with the quiet activation too ????? (that NPP waits
to get the focus again?)

Hope this helps in discovering the problem.
