I have an idea how to implement this; instead of loading all of the file into
the memory, the program will load only the part which is to be viewed. If user
changes the viewing position, the program will unload the previous position
from the memory and load the newly located position.

This way it will be slower to browse a large file if user has lots of RAM, but
if user has limited amount of RAM it will skyroket the process.

In yesterday's v.0.2 archive I put wrong executable of WaitForInputIdle()
version
(that waits only for Notepad++ initialization) with test MessageBox. However,
second exec with WaitForSingleObject() (that waits for Notepad++ exit, and
therefore
exists as long as Notepad++ does) was right one. Strange, but please accept
my apologies. Now there is a correct version.

Launcher with autoinstallation built-it won't be bigger than, let's say, 30
KB, so I think that this is still acceptable.
I'll use name trigger, which means that installation will start only if the
name of the executable is 'install.exe'. There won't be any so-called GUI apart
from some MessageBoxes (beginning, end of installation). Log and backup are
of course good ideas, but they aren't crucial IMHO.

I have some problems with SFC/WFP currently. Disabling it using undocumented
SetSfcFileException() function for given notepad.exe paths works for me only
in %WINDIR%, but not in subdirectories. I'm using Windows XP x64 and maybe
that's
why. Nevertheless the solution should be universal and at this moment I cannot
guarantee it.

Regards,
Przemoc

Is it stable enough to be included in v5.1.2?

Don

There used to be a feature in NPP, I think 4.9 where I could select and it would
auto-reindent my code -- making sure all the brackets line up nicely. There
as another feature where it would show a function list and I could select a
function from the list and NPP would automatically go to the header line. I
can't find these very useful features in NPP 5.1, I think I have been missing
them since 5.0. I really hope they were not removed. Can someone tell me where
to find them? I have been enjoying NPP for the past 2 years, by far the best
general editor.

It would be nice if the Find Dialog remembered the settings between exit and
start of the program. (Or a way to change the defaults.)

Hi,

I am connecting to a CentOS server with vsftpd installed.

I have no problems with CHMOD (file permission change) on Pspad, Core FTP,
FileZilla
or any other FTP client.

But I was not able to CHMOD with FTP_synchronize on Notepad++

I noticed that I also cannot change file modification time (MDTM)

I tried raw commands too but always the same error: SITE CHMOD command
failed...

Please help,
Mahir

Personally I did not find problems in this version (the pre-release version
was ready about 10 days ago), so it seems to be stable enough. However, I can't
garantee there are no subtle issues caused by internal architecture re-design
and/or Unicode support. Therefore it's called "0.3 beta1" - to have
justification
in case of bugs ;-)
