The external libraries need to go in the main notepad++ folder and not in the
plugins folder.

I am having the same problem. I believe that common_func was moved to
./MISC/Common/Common.[h/cpp], but I'm still stuck. I added these directories
(and one for TinyXml) to the CMakeLists.txt, and I was able to create (what
I think is) a good Makefile.
Then, I try to build, and I get lots of header errors that I'm not sure what
to do with. The first error is:
[ 2%] Building CXX object CMakeFiles/notepad++.dir/winmain.obj
In file included from
/cygdrive/c/TmpFiles/NP++/npp_2/PowerEditor/src/winmain.cpp:18:

Has anyone had any luck building the latest NP++ release? I am using cygwin,
gcc, make, and cmake.
Bill

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but it's a feature I appreciate
in other programs. This could also be integrated as a plugin, I'm not sure which
is easier.
For those that don't know what I'm talking about, it works like this: for every
line you change, a colored mark appears in the gutter to indicate that you have
edited that line. When the document is saved, that mark changes to a different
color, from red to green, say. This allows you to easily find the lines you've
modified in the document, both before and after saving it.
Thanks to Don for a great program.
Oliver

I can help you with 2 of these...
2. You can change the background color of selected text by going to Settings
> Styler Configurator > Language: Global Styles > Style: Selected text color..
that should allow you to change it to whatever you'd like.
3. This one is simple and not that well-known, I don't think. Hold down the
CTRL key and scroll up with your mousewheel. The font size is practically
unlimited,
as far as I can tell.
Good luck, and enjoy.
Oliver

I just unzipped a win 5.14 npp to my D drive, and seems everything is fine and
working until I tried to run the tidy, then I nothing happened, after searching
the net, I found the following solutions from the net:
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/HTML+Tidy
http://stupiddumbguy.blogspot.com/2008/04/visual-studio-format-whole-document-fo
r.html
so I copied the first file from the first link into my tidydir\plugins\NPPTextFX
dir and named it to tidycfg.ini and copied the file from 2nd link to my
tidydir\plugins\NPPTextFX dir and named it to htmltidy.cfg
when I tried to run tidy again, I got a bunch of errors, here are the first
few lines:
line 1 column 1 - Warning: missing <!DOCTYPE> declaration
line 363 column 1 - Warning: missing <td>
line 87 column 9 - Warning: <style> proprietary attribute "charset"
line 235 column 1 - Warning: <table> lacks "summary" attribute
line 245 column 1 - Warning: <table> lacks "summary" attribute
then I tried to go back to my code to see why the errors, the 1st error was
Ok, my code does not have it, but the 2nd line which showed line 87 col 9,
there's
nothing (just space). here are my questions:
- Is there anything I have to set/change/add in order to work with Simplified
Chinese char? Please remember that I'm using an English version of NPP to edit
a Simplified Chinese html page.
- where the tidycfg.ini file is supposed to be located? I have it in 2 different
dir, one in /config/tidy and another one in /config/NPPTexFX
- I have only 1 htmltidy.cfg which is located under /config/NPPTexFX
Here's my environment:
windows XP SP2 English
NPP 5.14 English unicode for win
Simplified Chinese html page
ps: I did not install it, I just downloaded a win zip file, extracted it into
a /apps/NotePad++
Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions.
Michael

Oh yes, this is a very good suggestion. Creating a project-file (ini- or
xlm-like
file), which contains some characteristics of the project and all files, which
belong to the project. Opening the project-file (*.nppp?) via explorer
or file-open-Menu opens all project-files. And add some new topics to the
file-menu
(as sub-Menu):
- open project,
- save whole project,
- close whole project,
- add file to project,
- delete file from project.
I support this suggestion.
