First off, I love this program! I work in Scala Infochannel and like to manually
replace lines of code when doing kiosk programs for tedious work that would
take forever to do in the gui. Sometimes the lines of code I need to
find/replace
are very long and I notice that there is a limit to how long of a line you can
find/replace.

Is this a bug?

For example:

This line of code:
Button(Wipe("Dissolve", Duration(500), Direction(90), Wait(Off)),
Normal(Clip(1604,
0, "homepage\new_homepage_layout\Homepage_NU_BTN_CVB_17.png", Face(On, Pen(2)),
Update(Normal), Operation(On, ChromaKey($ffffff, Feather(0))))),
Select(Clip(1607,
0, "homepage\new_homepage_layout\Homepage_NU_BTS_CVB_16.png", Face(On, Pen(2)),
Update(Normal), Operation(On, ChromaKey($ffffff, Feather(0)))),
Goto("chambermember_landingpage")));

turns into this truncated version once you press "find"

Button(Wipe("Dissolve", Duration(500), Direction(90), Wait(Off)),
Normal(Clip(1604,
0, "homepage\new_homepage_layout\Homepage_NU_BTN_CVB_17.png", Face(On, Pen(2)),
Update(Normal), Operation(On, ChromaKey($ffffff, Feather(0))))),
Select(Clip(1607,
0, "homepag

I appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks

-Matt

Bug FTP:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/pAsf4vflNTgnpEsvnRoBig?feat=directlink

I was in love with notepad++ FTP feature, proude to have it alternative
as Dreamweaver.

But few days i am facing problems, it connects to ftp and then when i click
folders it duplicate the tree view by opening it again and again.

If i connect to ftp using windows explorer or webDrive software i dont face
this problem, only with notepad++. I am using latest version of notepad++.

You might (want to) use regular expression mode to "skip" a lot of various
character
strings to shorten the expression used.

For instance, you could use [^,]*, to simply skip all text before and including
the next comma. You could repeat this "code" in your expression.

Another "obvious" code for skipping would be scanning for parentheses:
[^\)]*\)

But be aware: there may be nested parentheses, as opposed to the comma's code.

Search for regular expression and you may find out more tricks.

Yes, I have complained about this change also. It seems like a lot of people
are impacted by the change to not set the default directory to whatever
directory
the current file resides in.

Sounds like the functionality should be changed back, or exposed as a
configuration
element.

What might be obvious as well: do use identifiers to find keyword in the lines
you want to delete.

^KeywordAtStartOfLine
...
AnyKeywordInTheLine
...
;$

It sounds like several users have run into this same problem.

Here is my proposed fix:

- Add a checkbox to the Find in Files dialog that reads "Keep folder selection"
- When checked, subsequent ctrl+shift+F will NOT overwrite the folder selection
with current file's directory
- When unchecked, each ctrl+shift+F WILL overwrite the folder selection with
the current file's directory
- Default is OFF, to keep the functionality as it was before 5.3.1

I have thought about these naming issues : "Encode as" should be "Interpret
as". The problem is for some case, applying different interpretation make buffer
dirty, then BOM is added or removed to/from the file while saving file. So the
term "View" or "Interpret" may make more confuse.

If you have a better term, I'll take it.

I compare two files in Hex display...

HexEditor is not part of Notepad++, but a plugin. It's often the cause of crash
of Notepad++.

I suggest you to remove this plugin to maintain the stability of Notepad++.

IMO, all the sub menu are needed.

(Almost) All the Notepad++ features are listed in the menu to help users to
learn them. So it's important to not remove commands from the menu.

> (c) clustering similar functions (so there are fewer places to look for

That's the solution to make menu shorter and cleaner.

In the next release, the sub-menu Edit/View and Languages are improved - these
3 menu will be cleaner and shorter. User can access to every single menu command
even under a 640x480 display.
