Check Preferences -> Highlight cinfigurator -> Global style, and make sure the
font being used there is amharic aware.
where is that again? Looked everywhere in Notepad

Ok, here it is. I should have changed my localisation to englihs first,
I guess.
1/ There is a Settings menu in N++, with 3 entries
2/ The second one is Srtler configurator...
3/ The dialog box that pops up on selecting the entry has a list on its left.
The first item there is Global style.
4/ The second list then has many items; the second one is Default style.
5/ On the Font style on the right, there is a dropdown list that displays all
available fonts. Chosse one that displays amharic script properly.
Hopefully you can go ahead fro there.

Hi all! I'm new to the team, and know this forum has not been used in quite
some time but hopefully you will join in and share your thoughts.
So, N++ 5.4 is rolling out the door and some major changes have been included
including the merging of Scintilla 1.77, but Scintilla .178 has now been
announced
and the new features of it are pretty darned cool. Don has already stated his
intention of using 1.78 for the next major release and if you have looked at
the Change Log for it you know there are some big changes.
Some of these changes will be big for N++ as well, and I'm hoping that this
thread can be a place for us to talk out the ideas. Last week, in preperation
for Scintilla 1.78, the repository was restructured so that we can use branches
for integration, feature development, and testing.
So what is this thread about?
Me: Nice thing about being able to branch the repo... we can try out a feature
and see if we like it without messing up the trunk
Don: I'm rather for discussing what we want before implementing anything
Me: I agree; perhaps a thread on the dev forum about ideas for what we _can_
do and what we _want_ to do and what we _should_ do with Scintilla .178?
