There's the Function List plugin and the CCompletion plugins that could do the
job.

Be aware though that you will never get a integration as tight as in an IDE

seems to happen in multiple versions, definitely in 5.4:
if you try to comment (Ctrl+Q or Ctrl+K) a block that has been folded (Alt+0),
the first line gets commented and the rest are deleted!
i understand that commented blocks cannot be folded easily (maybe someday?),
but deleting is _very_ wrong

The procedure entry point getlongpathnameW could not be in the library
kernel32.dll
Thats the error I get does anyone know of a cure. I am running nt4 server.

Thanks for the comments. What I would like to see is some kind of
user-configurable
Tab size setting based on file type (e.g., 2 for C/C++ files, 4 for Perl, etc).
It should also have an option to replace all the Tab chars by spaces when the
file is saved.
The current global Tab size setting is nice but not good enough especially if
we would like to use different Tab sizes for different file types.

On retangular selections:
1/ The displayed selected character count is still wrong (3 lines by 3 columns
can lead to 475!). Bug reported a while ago on SF tracker.
2/ Perform a rectangular selection using Alt+mouse, and then press Shift+Down
arrow. The whole line below the selected rectangle shows as selected as well,
and those that follow if pressing repeatedly are stream selected, in a strange
mixed selection mode. And it is not just a display thing: hitting Del removes
both the rectangle and the full line(s).
Let's call this a feature, it could be useful.
3/ Typing characters in sequence in a rectanular selection is a nice feature.
But, on a mistake, backspace does not remove the last typed column: it jumps
to the rightmost typed char on the first selected row and special typing mode
is cancelled. This one I'd call a bug. Undo does the right thing though.

There had been another plugin that was made to work by this change - I think
I posted about that a couple months ago.
So now the point is: why is that dependency, and is removing it in some future
version realistic?

Tobias is correct.
Find the paper manual or go to the scanner manufacturer website and download
the manual as PDF.
There will be a barcode which will program your scanner to add <cr> on each
scan. You can also program other prefixes and sufixes.

Notepad++ comes with *Brace and Indent guideline Highlighting* feature.
it would be quite handy if Single & Double Quotes are also Highlighted when
typed or place cursor, in pairs like (,{ or [
while coding PHP or JavaScript, i often find it difficult to track open quotes
or matching/closing nested quotes.
