The replace in files feature doesn't seem to work as expected. If I do a search
of xyz in file types *.aspx *.css *.js (plus others) it finds thousands of hits,
but when I press the replace in files button only a small number are replaced.
Subsequent finds still find thousands of hits and subsequent replaces don't
replace anything. I think the correct behavior would be to replace every
instance
that was found. I'm not sure where the bug is, but I couldn't get the replace
feature working for the entire directory and had to use another tool.

The keyboard macro playback doesn't always do the same thing as happens when
you press keys manually. I consider this a pretty big flaw in that whole
recording/playback and because of it, try not to rely on macros too much. What
you describe *should* work (though you needlessly lose your cursors position
on the line doing it that way.) It does not however do what you think.
Instead,
it does exactly what you say - deletes the line.
If you're always using the same language, you could macro define and link to
hot-keys, much simpler macros that put a fixed string, or remove said fixed
string from the start of whatever line the cursor happens to be on.
