About the shorter lines:

the ToDo list on Scintilla v1.77 was stating that allowing caret to go past
end of line was a planned feature, which ConTEXT natively has.

If 1.78 implements the feature , then the next major release of NP++ may address
the issue, which is mainly Scintilla's.

Hi, I want install the latest version of Notepad++ but all files starting from
4.4.0 are corrupted. I try to download the installer and the zip archive but
all files are corrupted. I checksum the files and the result is different from
all the files present in npp.5.4.3.release.md5

I let NP++ re-open the last used documents on the next program start (options
> misc > remember the current session for next launch).

NP++ always saves the cursor positions in the re-opened documents, but I would
prefer to have the cursor placed always at the beginning of the documents.

So could it be possible to add an option named e.g. 'also save cursor position
in session'? This could be enabled by default, so the default behaviour won't
change until I disable this option.

This is the only little option I miss in this otherwise prefect and highly
configurable editor.

TIA

Hi all,

I lost NPPTextFX plugin on my Notepad++ somehow.
When I try to re-install it from the plug-ins page I get the message:
This ANSI Plugin is not compatible with your Unicode Notepad++
This Plugin is not compatible with current version of Notepad++

Does anyone know what is going on and why I cant load this plugin please?

I have had similar issues with the installers from 5.1.2 on.

First of all, please check whether you have ANSI TextFX with N++ ANSI, or
Unicode
N++ with Unicode TextFX.

If so, the workaround I have found is to rename each dlll whose deletion you
are prompted for. Thenn proceed. When installer suggests to launch N++ for you
rename the dll's back beore saying yes.

On lmmy systems, I have 5 plugins which are threatened by every installer, and
work fine.

I have reported this in the forums, but nothing has been moving. The number
of plugins I have to process has crept up.

If you wish to suppress the XML highlighting, just select "Normal text" as a
highlighter from the Language menu. If not there, enable it first from Settings
-> Preferences -> Language Menu.

If the issue is different, then could ou post a small sample of source XML and
desired conversion? That will help us to provide a solution.

It seems I have a UNICODE NotePad++ and an ANSI plugin
The NPPTextFx plugin download is called:
NPPTextFX27-v0.24Release-NPP34

surely renaming the dlls won't do any good as I've already installed this so
I'll the dll's are dated the same if I install it again.

When dragging a file or folder on some shortcut to Notepad++, the file, or the
files in folder, are opened as well as those in session.xml if sessions have
been enabled.

For individual files, this may or may not be desirable. For folders, I doubt
it ever is.

An obvious workaround is to create two shortcuts, one that will launch N++ with
the -nosessions switch and one without it. I wouldn't call this convenient.

Instead, could it be that, for instance, dropping means open according to
current
session settings, Shift+drop = always include session if any, and Ctrl+drop
= total control: only open those files I'm dragging?

The problem is with the trailing spaces. I found the fllowing to work:

1/ Find
Search: \d+ *$
Check Mark line
Check Wrap around
Select regex mode
Find All

2/ Delete bookmarked lines.

I am trying to do using macro and the comment part works, but the uncomment
is not working as expected, I tried to record the uncomment macro by pressing
the 'HOME' key and then using 'SHIFT' + 'END' key (to highlight the text) and
then pressed 'CTRL'+'SHIFT'+'k' (Block uncomment) and 'END' key to unselect
text, the expected behavior is to uncomment the single line where the caret
is, but the results I am seeing is it deletes the line. I need some help in
doing this.

Thanks
Ash
