Thanks for the response.
I do have the function list installed now and it is close. Maybe i don't know
the full functionality of this, but it looks like this is a list of functions
in the sqr that when i want to use a procedure in the sqr it does
an autocomplete.
Could you give me a little guidance in creating the groups you are referring?
Here is what my current tree build does and looks like. We will see if the
formatting sticks when i post this:
Main1
SomeProcedure1
SomeProcedure2
SubProc1
SubProc2
SomeProcedure3
Main2
Main3
The tree would show this structure and allow me to click on the procedure and
navigate to it in the editing window. Main1, Main2 and Main3 are at the root
level. Main1 has 3 proecdures that may get called under it. SomeProecdure1,
SomeProecdure2 and SomeProecdure3. SomeProecdure 2 would have 2 procedures
called from within it, SubProc1 and SubProc2.
These are custom procedures so the list would need to generate these procedures
on the fly I think. The above really comes in handy as it gets to be a
nightmare
finding and navigating to these procedures within your code. By the time I
find the procedure I may have forgotten what my original intent in locating
was. I could put a screen up some place too if it would be easier to understand
what I am asking.

Instead of
"Can you please explain me how to upgrade Npp without worrying my configs? "
should be:

Is there a way to change the character encoding while editing a document? I'm
sure not everyone uses/edit files only from their own country's encoding and
it's not convienient to change the default encoding every time you open
a document.
Of course this applies to ANSI only encoded files.
I haven't found a way to do that but maybe I'm not using N++ to the full
extent.
Thanks

I have what might be the same problem, but it occurs sporadically - up to 20-30
times a day (until I quit, basically), or sometimes not at all. It almost
always
happens when selecting text. I'm using 5.4.3, but I've had the problem with
all previous versions I've used as well. I've noticed it does not happen as
often when working on files under 10000 lines, if that's any use...

Hey, where did the hex editor plugin go? I just went to upgrade and now no
more hex editor? It's one of the main reasons I use N++
:'-(

My feeling is that it was removed from the distro because it was unstable.
You can still find it here:

When you select the "File > Open All Recent Files" option, the order of the
tabs will in the reverse order of their last opened state. I work around this
by opening NPP, selecting the aforementioned command, select "File > Close All",
and then reselect the offending command. This is fine, I guess, but certainly
an unexpected UI behaviour.
Anyway, it's certainly easier to complain and find fault, but I like NPP enough
to use it as a primary text and programming interface in both Windows and Linux
(with WINE) environments (vi for shell-only, though). I personally couldn't
do a better job in a reasonable amount of time. The program is well designed
considering that all the simplicities and complexities being well married.
Kudos!

Thanks for the info Dave.
Any ideas when the new release will come? This is quite an annoying problem,
which almost made me go back to v5.4.3.

Is there any update on this? It's really the only feature Notepad++ is missing
to become perfect, and it's more than two years old!
