Hmm lets stick to that one.
My connection is just a plain 100mbit one. No problems whatsoever.

I have this problem as well (as pasha already quoted). At first I was suspecting
this had something to do with the fact my files are stored on a samba share
but it also happens with the local file system.
I downgraded to 5.4.3, 5.4.0 but those were still crashing. I am nu running
5.3.1.
Could it be something related to the "change marker"? This has been added in
5.4.0 as far as i recall.

I have not seen a good answer to this question anywhere yet, so what we do is
run an install batch script that deletes all the plugins first, then runs the
installer with the /s switch for silent, then copy back any plugins we want
that are not part of the standard install (like compare and XML). That may not
fit your need exactly, but it works. I can roll out upgrades with Altiris this
way successfully.

Do the same if you'd like.

Spell checker - you need to install Aspell first. Just download the "full
installer"
from http://aspell.net/win32/
Then, just grab a dictionary for whatever language(s) you require, and put it
in the dict directory under your aspell installation directory (probably
C:\Program
Files\Aspell\dict)
You may need to set the Aspell bin directory in the spell checker plugin, but
if you're installation directories are all the default (for Aspell and
Notepad++),
the defaults should work fine.
<ShamelessPlug>
I'm not sure about ColorPicker - I've still got a few plugins to add to the
Plugin Manager, and that's one of them, but if you install the plugin manager,
and have a look in the list in there in a day or so, you should be able to
install
it easily from there.
</ShamelessPlug>
Dave.

Dang it just locked up on me. The pattern was I hit CTRL-S on a large file then
I hit the up arrow key immediately after that. Locked up at 50% cpu.
I'm actually on a high speed connection today so that doesn't seem to be the
issue. Maybe hitting a key in the middle of saving a file?

Hi,
Every time that I want to upgrade Npp, I do an uninstall and then installing
the new version.
The upgrading process written here:
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/download.php
is not clear to me.
Can you please explain me how to upgrade Npp without worrying my configs?
Thanks :)
Best regards,
Dor.

I know this is probably a noob question (though I've been using NPP for years
now), but when I select a word or text in a document, all the same words or
text are highlighted. Why is it doing that, and what can I do with that (i.e.
can I change or replace all the highlighted instances at once)?

Have you looked at the Function List plugin? It sounds like you want to know
what each function calls, rather than just a list of functions, which is what
Function List does. However, I think you may be able to tailor the config to
do what you want - you can already specify groups to get a tree structure, so
you may be able to do everything you want by just altering the config - if not,
it might be better to start with the code for that as a base and see if you
alter the code to do what you want.
If you don't feel up to attempting it yourself, you can always request it -
you never know, it might be a feature many people want.
Dave.
