Please disregard the prior error I somehow had notepad++ open during both the
installs and the removal process that apparently had the file locked.

"NPPP > Settings > Style Configurator > Language: Global Styles, Style: Selected
text colour > Colour Style > Background color", click the square (initially
somewhat gray) and chose the clear bright vivid green square (which is #00ff00,
i.e. "lime").
That way when 10 occurrences are *highlighted*, the one *selected* will be
clearly
outlined.
Sure this color choice has a few drawbacks, but they are IMO just aesthetical;
anyway, TIA to anyone who would spend the time and find a better one.
BTW, Notepad++ writes sometimes "colour", sometimes "color". This denotes a
lacking sense of clarity, exactitude, reliability, friendliness, mind openness,
care to others - that resurfaces in plenty areas of the program (accordingly
severely reducing the program's reliability) and of the discussions on this
forum, where people are too often nitpicking instead of straightforwardly
correcting
and immediately and kindly thanking for the report or suggestion. No surprise
when seeing this good program so badly hampered by a series of bugs or lacks
that never get done after months or years of polite reports or requests from
users.
Now I know this is useless: such people will infinitely bash me and argue
instead
of just acknowledging, rolling their sleeves up, and actually working.

(Sorry for the dense title, forced by the forum's 45-char limit)
I am NOT AFFECTED despite running Windows XP Pro SP3, Notepad+++ v5.3.1 (UNICODE
- but all my files have "NPPP > Format > Encode in ANSI"), and having installed
(but never used) NppExec ver. 0.3 RC1 Unicode for NPPP5.1+.
I mean, the Title Bar in my Notepad++ window always has the entire full path
of the file in the selected tab (e.g. "C:\TEMP\Test_NPPP-Save.htm - Notepad++"),
preceded with an asterisk if the file has unsaved changes
("*C:\TEMP\Test_NPPP-Save.htm - Notepad++").

Hi all,
I'm quite new to this forum. I've tried to look for somebody has just answered
my question, but I don't see the "find in this forum" functionality.
By the way, I would like to change the color of the commas and parenthesis in
the SQL language used by Notepad++.
I've readen a bit, but it says to define a user language. So do I need to define
all just done for the SQL language style or I can simply continue that style
adding my settings.
I want to change the color of commas. I've had a nasty experience with a query
where, missing a "," I had numbers complitly crazy. And to discover this I
worked
it over a day!
Thanks. Sorry for my silly question ..

I don't find back how it was, but I remember that in Notepad++ you do have a
button or command that returns search results "? la" grep - IOW, as in a the
grep family, a series of all the entire lines that contain the searched string.
TIA to who could point the tool involved.

Subject: [Notepad-plus-plus] Proposed Enhancement: "Sticky" Marking
When Smart Highlighting

Hello,
I would like to propose a minor enhancement to the baseline SmartHighligher
functionality.
The proposed enhancement: when one is selecting a word character-by-character,
allow one to do this multiple times, without clearing the previous selected
(and now smart-highlighted) sets of words. Then, clear all marks when double
click on any other word. Double-click smart-highlighting functionality remains
the same as it was before.
Where this came from: I review code, and have a need to follow variable
assignments through the code. This change allows me to select the original
variable, then select a new variable that the old variable is now assigned to,
and so on.
The changes to Notepad++ version 5.4.3 would be quite minor and would be as
follows:
SmartHighlighter.h:27
void highlightView(ScintillaEditView * pHighlightView, bool bClearMarks);
SmartHighlighter.cpp:29
SmartHighlighter.cpp:34
void SmartHighlighter::highlightView(ScintillaEditView * pHighlightView, bool
bClearMarks)
...
//Clear marks
if( bClearMarks )
pHighlightView->clearIndicator(SCE_UNIVERSAL_FOUND_STYLE_2);
Notepad_plus.cpp:2574
//clear sticky marks
_smartHighlighter.highlightView(notifyView, true);
Notepad_plus.cpp:2609
_smartHighlighter.highlightView(notifyView, false); //do not clear sticky
marks
Notepad_plus.cpp:2621
_smartHighlighter.highlightView(notifyView, false); //do not clear sticky
marks
Best,
Mike B.

Wow, thanks for the detailed reply. I will look into this as soon as I have
an extra few moments. I have not explored the Notepad++ source code as of yet
but am looking forward to spending a some time with it.
