I agree with Keith -- the concept of "coprocessors" has been defined in many
ways by different groups. HBase coprocessors don't really look much like
Bigtable coprocessors, which are not really well defined in the literature
anyway. The thing that we really need in Accumulo is a mechanism that safely do
triggered operations outside of "the current row" without introducing the
possibility of a deadlock. Hooks don't count as "coprocessors" IMO.
