Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-1832:
---------------------------------------------
How would you be in the same boat? This is a unique problem because of the fact
that 1.6 stores full URIs, whereas 1.5 and earlier only stored relative paths.
You could replace the namenode with a backup on a different server and things
would just work (in theory, anyway).
> Create utility for rewriting uris

> When a users namenode dies and they restore it on another node Accumulo will
> not work since it stores fully qualified uris internally. Need to a provide
> a utility to rewrite these URIs.
> The utility could rewrite paths in zookeeper, bring root table online and
> rewrite paths, bring metadata table online and rewrite, and then allow user
> tablets to come online.
