[~dlmarion] I concur with targeting this to 1.8. I would have had similar
issues that Keith highlighted. You are doing a lot of work on this and I
believe that you are on the right track. I'd rather see us take the time now to
make sure that this is something we can endorse without reservations - even if
that pushes the 1.8 release back a little bit. I would not want to rush and
settle for something that we would have to live with if we can avoid it by
spending a little more time now,
