Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-4317:
---------------------------------------------
Personally, I think it's bad form to bump a blocker... either it's a blocker
and no more releases should be done without a fix, or it's not really a blocker
and it's just a really important bug. In the case of the latter, I think that's
what "Critical" should be for.
In this case, I'm inclined to say this should be downgraded to "Critical"
instead of "Blocker". However, it looks like a patch is already available, so
the fix could easily make it in.

> Accumulo stores hostnames in zookeeper, if the client can not resolve these
> then it will continue to try to connect in a while(true) loop. This will
> eventually cause 'too many files open' errors.
> Loop is in ServerClient.java$executeRaw
> Bug: Should error out after some time, not retry infintely.
> Workaround: Add hostnames to /etc/hosts and restart.
