Hi Emmanuel, I didn't check your patches, will have a look at them soonish (I'd
like to get 1.10.17 out of the way first).

Are there more recent versions of the patches? I could imagine they need to be
adapted as some things may have changed over the past six years. Haven't
checked, though.

I'm not sure using SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH as a trigger for the enhancements is a
good choice. It seems too implicit to me. Then again you Debian folks have a
lot of experience with creating reproducible builds. I see it is a corner stone
of https://reproducible-builds.org/docs/ .
