Apologies! I misread the "ambiguous redirect" error and thought it was coming
from the line containing {{1>&-}} (which BTW makes no sense without preceding
it with {{exec}}), but in fact the problem is that I copied my fix into this
bug incorrectly; it should actually read
{code}
exec 1>/var/log/couchdb/daemon-stdout.log
exec 2>/var/log/couchdb/daemon-stderr.log
{code}
instead of these, which have a superfluous {{&}}:
{code}
exec 1>&/var/log/couchdb/daemon-stdout.log
exec 2>&/var/log/couchdb/daemon-stderr.log
{code}
