    Could this be problematic from a performance perspective? There's no 
backpressure against making requests to couch_server if it's under load. If you 
have a high max_dbs_open, it could result in hundreds or thousands of messages 
being sent to couch_server. I haven't deeply thought through the performance 
implications, but I'm wondering if there could be a situation where this could 
cause couch_server's message queue to snowball if it got backed up.
